17.01.2022 An update on the Sanctuary... To date we have not been directly affected by recent fires on the Mid North Coast, but yes the fires are close and we remain vigilant. Steven has been out on the front line fighting these devastating fires most days or safeguarding the sanctuary for what may come.... We have had a number of offers from people with land for apiaries needing to be temporarily moved - so get in touch if you are in need and we can connect you! We cast our thoughts and heart felt vibes daily to those in our community that have lost so much already!

15.01.2022 Such great news for our Valley!

10.01.2022 A sad day today... we pride ourselves on our natural beekeeping practices, of which one is, that we do not move our bees. The past month has shown us that part of putting our bee's needs first, is protecting them! Today we are beeless and have moved our bees to safer grounds as we wait for what the next week/ month holds. This fire has a lot to teach us and the bees give us hope for the future and regeneration, they are safe for now and we look forward to them coming home soon!

So hard to part with, but hope you can all put it out there for the perfect new owners (you are welcome to share this post). Business is still usual in these times and just to confirm, we are not selling the business or surrounding properties and are relocating to extend our vision close by. 07.01.2022 Woolworths, in partnership with Landcare Australia’s Junior Landcare program, invites primary schools and early learning centres to apply for funding for environmental projects through the Woolworths Junior Landcare Grants program. This national program seeks to inspire the next generation of environmental champions by funding vegetable gardens, recycling and enhancing native habitat projects. Little Star Bee Sanctuary has written a sample application for any education enviro...nment (from Port Macquarie to Grafton on the Mid North Coast) interested in using this to obtain the grant for the 100 Hives in 100 Schools project. This means that you can cut and paste the application into the grant platform and add any specific education environment details - it seriously is that easy!
