23.01.2022 Speaking with an early educator, she told me that not all children come to pre school with the experience or ability to engage in small world play. I was astounded that some children don't have this skill. It was a huge reminder that I need to ensure I expose my little boy to small world and imaginative play from a young age. It is so beneficial for toddlers!!! It enables children to develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. It encourages them to share a...nd communicate as well as express themselves and their feelings It allows them to become more aware of their own emotions as well as others. They use their fine motor skills and coordination while also building on their spatial awareness. And as far as intellectually developing - the possibilities are endless - language and culture, mathematics, road safety... the list goes on. . 22.01.2022 Practicing CVC words doesn't sound like the most exciting task, until you see these boards! In case you don't know, a CVC word is made up of a consonant, vowel, and consonant sound, such as C A T. They introduce children to the concept that words have a beginning, middle and ending sound that together create a word. These boards are such a creative and engaging way to practice CVC words. 13.01.2022 I have been a little MIA from socials lately. It has been a very busy month. I started back at work part time, which has been a transition going from a full time stay home Mum. Our little boy has started at daycare 2 days a week, which has been exhausting for him. So in between being a Mum and running a household we have been working really hard with making some of our very own wooden toys.
