14.01.2022 Happy 90th Birthday Steve Little Triangle would not exist without the works of Stephen Sondheim; we hope you spend the day like us indoors celebrating by reflecting on your favourite Sondheim memories and having a dance party in your room to the recently released album 'Losing My Mind: A Sondheim Disco Fever Dream' Here's to many more
09.01.2022 September is always a big month for us every year for the last three years we have opened a show in September. In 2017, it was our inaugural production, Sunday in the Park with George. 2018 brought our first cabaret, A Little Cabaret And in 2019 (a whole year ago?!) we presented our most recent production, NINE. It's a sad time to be in September 2020 without a staged production, but we wanted to let you know that we're still here & we'll be back as soon as is feasible
09.01.2022 #ThrowbackThursday to one year ago, but just as relevant as ever! We're feeling like a strong #1 most days at the moment. We hope that whichever one you are today, that you're covered up with a mask. The multi-talented Kelly Goddard (Sunday in the Park with George, Merrily We Roll Along, NINE) is busy making masks with Little Roo Masks pick one up to be safe & to support a local artist! https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/LittleRooMasks
06.01.2022 UNDERSTANDING MUSIC #09 - YESTERDAY IS DONE - Merrily We Roll Along We are back with Understanding Music after a little break. This week we have a look at one o...f Sondheim's most historically controversial musicals, Merrily We Roll Along. A "total failure" on its premiere, the show has gone to become one of the biggest cult musicals of all times. Its story, presented backwards, as if some events in life could only be understood when analysed in retrospective, is one of friendship, dreams, and aspirations, love, success and failure. Obviously, not in that order. Its music is heavily influenced by the big band sound of the 1970s, and like the show, it decomposes itself as we progress into the show. It is a fascinating score and today, we dive deep into it. Meet me here at 6pm, for some musical delights. Live, from this page. Understanding music is a series of music appreciation live sessions, created with the purpose to help you develop a deeper appreciation for music and the many different genres that make this artform so vast and unique. The sessions are free to attend, but if you would like to support me in this endeavour, now running for over 2 consecutive months, you can do it by donating what you can via this link: https://bit.ly/2x1AJzU I would like to thank all of you who have supported me with your very generous donations, kind words and continuous attendance. You make it all worth it.
