21.01.2022 If these floating islands were built and spread across the world they would offset the total global emissions from fossil fuels and help protect our climate

20.01.2022 The world's rainforests could disappear within 100 years. If more countries don't follow Norway's lead, we'll be in big trouble.

17.01.2022 Huge, huge news! The Dutch Supreme Court has ruled government has a *mandatory* duty to do much more to prevent climate change. This landmark citizens...-led court case will have wide ramifications for climate litigation worldwide. It's the first court order directing a country to radically slash its greenhouse gas emissions. A UN special rapporteur on human rights and the environment said this is the most important climate change court decision in the world so far, confirming that human rights are jeopardised by the climate emergency and that wealthy nations are legally obligated to achieve rapid and substantial emission reductions.

17.01.2022 A useful infographics from WWF as a reminder that composting is the very last thing we should do with our food. It all starts with refuse and planning #infographic #foodwaste #sharewaste #reusereducerecycle#wastefreekitchen

13.01.2022 15 pounds of dead markers that will NOT end up in landfills or our oceans. Did you know that Crayola has a program called ColorCycle? I didn’t, but will be sav...ing them now! Crayola ColorCycle will accept all brands of plastic markers, not just Crayola markers. That includes dry erase markers & highlighters. If you collect the dead markers, they’ll send you a free shipping label & you can ship them back to Crayola to be recycled! Link to get started with this program: http://www.crayola.com/colorcycle.aspx. This program is currently in the US & parts of Canada, check website & www.crayola.com/colorcycle/frequently-asked-questions.aspx - FAQ's. Kids get so excited to set up boxes at their schools...know any teachers? These markers were collected in just 3 months at a preschool! Imagine what we could divert from landfills during the whole school year at every school! Thanks for Sharing See more

12.01.2022 Kelp and seaweed farms help reverse ocean acidification, counter climate change and stop the loss of biodiversity. We need to utilise ocean-based solutions ju...st as much as land-based ones to repair climate damage! Head to 2040: The Regeneration to find out more about kelp and seaweed farming. See more

08.01.2022 On Tuesday, Sydney choked as smoke overcame the city and the air quality dropped to one of the worst rankings in the world. Shops were selling out of protectiv...e face masks as we all tried to get our hands on one to protect our lungs and our health. And compared to our regional neighbours, we have it good in the city. Communities have had to walk away from their homes, unsure of what would be standing there when they came back, and over 600 households have returned to piles of ash and corrugated iron. We are angry, sad and frustrated as our country burns while those in power continue to support fossil fuels, ignoring the warnings and wisdom of Indigenous leaders, emergency services leaders and scientists. On Wednesday 20,000 filled the streets of Sydney, frustrated at the government's inaction on the climate crisis. The government needs to be held accountable, take urgent climate action and increase support for Indigenous land management and fire services. Our country is on fire and we will not stop fighting for a better future. Photos by our incredible content creator Emily Contador-Kelsall.

08.01.2022 This is big news! Goldman Sachs was the 12th biggest bank for the fossil fuel industry between 2016 and 2018. But it’s now cutting its financing and investment ...into fossil fuels thanks to years of lobbying by Indigenous led, environmental movements. The move also sets an important precedent for other big US banks (which are some of the fossil fuel industry’s biggest funders). Goldman Sachs still has more ties to cut with fossil fuels but this is a great start! _________________________________ Running our campaigns, creating our educational articles, videos and images and maintaining our climate action app is done on a shoestring by our tiny team, but we need the financial support of our movement. If you feel that our work has helped and empowered you to tackle the climate emergency and you love what we do, we’d love if you would consider becoming one of our Passionate Supporters, giving a regular monthly donation as small as $8. It would mean the world to us, and it would help us keep our content independent, focused on helping you help the planet. More information here: https://bit.ly/32lclTE
