For size comparison the jars are 30mm acorss and 28mm high. The box has worn edges and shows it's age but is fully functional & closes well. Betel nut has been chewed in Asia & India for hundreds of years and is often mixed with other fragrant spices & wrapped in a leaf which is tucked in your cheek & chewed after meals. It is even offered to the Gods in temples. This betel nut cutter features a fabulous scrolling Dragon head. Iron with remains of Silver inlay and pure silver handles. 17.01.2022 This is an Indian 19th Century Vajri (foot scrubber). Acquired from the Asian art collection of a gentleman in Northern England. Made of metal it has a pair of fighting Elephants to the top, these also form the handle. The base is open with lattice edging, Small pebbles or rocks are contained within the base. Bathing often occurred in a stream or rivers & hen the scrubber was being used, the small pebbles jingled, perhaps to warn off others in the vicinity that wome...n were bathing nearby. :) It measures 96mm x 65mm and stands 60mm high. $140 Postage $12 Australia wide. 17.01.2022 Amazing 18th Century French Armoire. Chestnut wood with original iron fittings. Simple country piece with loads of character & history. It has a really sweet drawing of a plant & a note written in pencil on the inside of the door which has a name & date I think it reads 1941. There are also two other pencil notes inside. There is a lot of old wood worm holes (which we love) & a couple of old repairs , however it is still in completely usable & strong & will last another 100 years easily. It has two interior shelves that are adjustable & more could easily be added if desired. Generous plate rack with pegs to the very top for hanging cups. Great row of small drawers at the bottom of the rack. Cupboards & a bank of drawers to the centre. 07.01.2022 Very stylish set of Mid 20th Century Rosewood chairs. Three seater lounge & four armchairs. Solid Rosewood, with striking open carved panels to the backs & arms. They are surprisingly comfortable. Very minor overall wear, they are really quite stunning. The foam cushions are in good repair however a couple of the silk covers have split on the front panels. The three seater measures 1745mm wide x 570mm deep and is 760mm high. The armchairs are 640mm wide x 570mm deep and are 760mm high. Very well priced at $1800 the set of five pieces.

06.01.2022 Fabulous 17th Century Oak table. Fantastic patina & great proportions for when a long slim table is needed. Three plank top with turned legs and a stretcher base. The top is not original to the base but they have been together for a very long time. They work well together. As it should it has lots of signs of age, old borer damage, some splitting to the top & lots of marks. These are shown in the photos. One end has a gentle bow to it as you can see. The perfect pati...na. The top comes off for transport. It measures 1760mm long x 710mm wide.
