20.01.2022 How I began weddings at Littlewood Agapanthus Farm Back in 2017 I wasn't actually a wedding coordinator; I was working as a duty manager in a gorgeous hotel in Adelaide South Australia and pregnant with my first born son Harrison. Our family had become the new owners of Littlewood which was owned by a beautiful couple in their 80s, the Grays made the difficult decision to leave Littlewood and chose us to be the new owners as we wanted to keep their business up and runni...ng the way they envisioned. At the time I was newly engaged and upon walking through the property for the first time I knew instantly that we were going to get married here. It was magical, I hadnt been to a place where I felt an immediate connection like I felt at Littlewood. I held onto my fiancées hand and said, this is where we are getting married. The planning began almost immediately, and I kept thinking to myself I think everyone should have the opportunity to be married in such a place as Littlewood.Thats when the real planning began, not just a wedding but a business to allow for many weddings to come. I had no idea where to start, but here is how my story began I approached business owners that were close to me and asked them about their stories, their wins and their failures. This gave me a starting point to get my business idea up and running. I planned our wedding keeping in mind that I wanted to recreate the same thing over and over again, this meant buying everything instead of renting so I would have it for future weddings. We went above and beyond on catering options and didnt hold back on the guests list so we could study how things worked and didnt work allowing us some intel into how we could change for our future weddings. We wanted to remember our day fondly and also have advertising content for our business so we used our day as a photoshoot and filming day which we used to get our first booking, our second booking and now I couldnt count the amount of bookings if I used all my fingers and toes. 10.01.2022 How I Spent 10 years trying to figure out how to make my garden manageable and stay ALIVE!!! I know I was shocked when I totalled that up myself! But I had no direction and no idea of where to even start. I was confused, overwhelmed and unmotivated because nothing I ever planted kept looking good in the long term.... So first I tried succulents because I needed a so called easy plant to start on. Then I bought a number of plant books and a million different fertilises and soil conditioners because I needed help with keeping the plants healthy. Then I realized that I needed help with water drainage so I bought sandy soil and spent a heap of time fixing mistakes I never wanted in the first place. When all was said and done, I had invested over 10 years to get my garden looking half okay but it wasnt how I dreamed my garden would look. But I absolutely needed to figure out how to care for succulents so Im grateful for the knowledge and experience. But because I spent so much energy and time investing in succulents it was the exact reason that I needed to find a plant that I could literally forget about and would still thrive. Because I dont want other people to have to struggle and piece together everything like I did. I wanted a green garden all year round with minimal fuss, that is near impossible to kill AND all for a fraction of the price.
