13.01.2022 This is me in a nutshell. Tell me who you are in the comments! I'm a 32-year-old mum of two. I'm a PR and copywriter by trade and a graduate of RMIT University Bachelor of Communications (PR). I started at Bendigo Bank straight out of uni and found my passion for community and youth development. I lost my way after becoming a mum; taking part-time jobs that didn't suit me while I juggled ill health, mental illness, a sick child and kept the bills paid and the lights on. (Than...k god for my hubby) I started Little Wren after I gave birth to my youngest son to keep my hand in and use my creativity and after three years of freelancing, side hustling and contract work I've decided to double down during Corona and bet on me. I've learned that working in a place like Bendigo, you have to know a little about a lot (or know people who can help) and over the past 15 years, that's what I've done. For example, I'm no graphic designer but I can whip up a mean quote tile in Canva. I love the brainstorming process and working on projects and with hard-working people who inspire me, especially small business owners with a vision.

13.01.2022 A little bit of Monday morning motivation!

11.01.2022 Sometimes a book, even just a chapter or an excerpt, can inspire you to take stock. The Bell Jar is close to my heart and the fig tree describes how many of us feel about balancing life, love and career. I saw my life branching out before me like the green fig tree from the tip of every branch, like a fat purple fig, a wonderful future beckoned and winked. One fig was a husband and a happy home and children, and another fig was Ee Gee, the amazing editor, and another fig was... Europe and Africa and South America, and beyond and above these figs were many more figs I couldn't quite make out. I saw myself sitting in the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I couldn't make up my mind which of the figs I would choose. I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest, and, as I sat there, unable to decide, the figs began to wrinkle and go black, and, one by one, they plopped to the ground at my feet. Sylvia Plath, The Bell Jar

09.01.2022 Failing one time or even several times doesn't make you a failure any more than losing one game makes you a loser. Keep on keeping on!
