25.01.2022 To extend on the Kindergarten children's interest in their literacy area today an ABC letter match puzzle activity was set out for the children to explore. The children were set with the challenge of matching a letter to a picture of an item that started with the same letter. Through this activity the children further developed their alphabet learning, letter recognition skills, fine motor and problem solving skills. QKLG Outcomes: 1.2, 3.3, 4.1, 5.2
25.01.2022 Today the children wore their footy team colours in support of the Fight Cancer Foundation. The children in the Senior Kindy room were invited to participate in an activity where they pretended to be a football player and attempted to kick a conversion. An educator filled a sensory tray up with sand from the sandpit in place of the field and placed two cardboard straws in the sand that represented the goal post. From there, the children used a coloured pompom each that port...rayed the football and were encouraged to attempt the conversion by thinking of strategies on how to get it between the post. As the children took their shot at the conversions, some of the children flicked the ball out of their hand or threw it between the post and cheered when the ball went in between the post. This experience encouraged the children to further their fine motor skills, cognitive skills and communication skills. EYLF Outcomes: 1.2, 2.3, 4.2, 5.1 See more
