24.01.2022 FINDING COMFORT THROUGH YOUR GRIEF AND LOSS!.. Everyone experiences grief and loss at some point in their lives. The difference is in how we learn to cope with it, as people handle it differently. When your grieving, you can feel like the world is ending. You may often lose the will to do simple things that used to make you happy and perhaps lack the motivation to take on more challenging tasks.... Although grief can be a devastating experience, your feelings are real and they need to be expressed and acknowledged but also know, you don’t have to go through this alone and these emotions do not have to be permanent. The late Jim Rohn once said; THE WALLS WE BUILD AROUND US TO KEEP SADNESS OUT, ALSO KEEPS OUT JOY’ I AM HERE WITH EMPATHY, COMPASSION AND CARE TO HELP YOU BREAK DOWN THESE WALLS. And whilst I continue to serve as a Funeral and Marriage Celebrant, I am now also in a fortuitous position to serve as a State & Commonwealth Government Qualified & Accredited Practitioner as a Counsellor. IF YOU NEED ME JUST CALL. In keeping YOU, YOUR FAMILIES, and I SAFE, I, Olivia, have taken the necessary steps to continue assisting those in need through A ‘REMOTE COUNSELLING FACILITY’, simply log onto https://omccounselling.com.au to learn of this facility or to make an inquiry. 22.01.2022 Perhaps NOW is 'Better than Ever' during these times to remind ourselves of some beautiful words. Desiderata - Words for Life Go placidly amid the noise and haste,... and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. Max Ehrmann, 1927

20.01.2022 What is Truth & Love Love? is a universal language whereby one displays a positive mental attitude, with genuine forgiveness, compassion and care even in times of antagonism and hostility. Love always shines a light over darkness, good over evil, hope over despair, generosity over selfishness, comfort over sorrow and kindness over hatred. It is forever constant and always present when one is confronted by challenges, for love never gives up! In life, as a human being, it is o...ur responsibility to cultivate the essence of love enabling us to stay on the path of good. Love does not generate resentment, nor does it permit others to gain advantage by hurting others. Love is glad when truth is spoken; therefore love aims at truth and supports it freely and willingly. Truth means not dealing in lies. Truth forges trust and respect, hence love; that’s why the two go together, one cannot exist without the other. Sometimes it may seem difficult to share truth and love with another you care about a great deal who does not understand it’s light shining power; but delivered gently and with patience, truth and love it will eventually shine forth, reshaping their understanding that you care about their welfare a great deal. love-ringBy choosing the path of truth and love we honor others. We are not boastful or self-seeking, proud or envious nor easily angered. We display patience, forgiveness and kindness. There is no wrong doing score kept but instead a shining light, a beacon pointing to truth and love protecting those values that bring the world back to a place it was intended to be, filled to the brim with trust, peace, joy, hope, safety, security and unity. To love is to tell the truth beginning within our selves, to thine own self be true* for in doing so we lead by example removing contradiction and confusion. Love and truth live on both sides of a coin, and by living in this way, we rest assured, our life will forever be filled with joy, peace and contentment. So no matter what is going on in our life or how we may be feeling at any given time, circumstance or situation, as long as truth and love are present, happiness and peace will always be there. Truth and love unite the souls of mankind bringing us together in a spirit of trust and unity in a way that hearts and minds are united as one bringing light and peace to the world. * William Shakespeare. 19.01.2022 Having lost my own father, nearly 21 years ago, his anniversary coming up very soon, it never ceases to amaze me that in times of need or feeling lost, I get a scent through nature that brings me back to when he was with us on the farm or a moments glance on blades of grass that sway back and forth in the gentle breeze, that reminds me of the fodder provided for his livestock and then there’s a time when I am walking, one arm by my side not moving, the other moving in sync wi...th my footsteps, how he used to walk with his herd, these are the times I truly experience his spirit walking safely by my side. Instead of crying, I am with gratitude for these experiences. I don’t feel sad instead I feel inspired and happy that I am living a spiritual life like he did when he was here. So what I am trying to say, in spirit your loved ones never leave you..

18.01.2022 FUNERAL MEMORIAL SERVICES EXPERIENCING GRATITUDE THROUGH YOUR GRIEF AND LOSS!........... The loss of a loved one is never easy for anyone. And as difficult as the current times are, it is so important that there is an opportunity to say goodbye.... Whilst some may say Funerals are for the mourners and others say they are a way of distinguishing between life and death, it’s also important to acknowledge that a funeral is about celebrating the life of a human being. Whatever the circumstances of their death; they were here. they lived. and in some shape or form they made an impact or contribution to those they held dear and to the wider community. A funeral is a way of saying 'Thank you' for them coming into your world and giving of themselves in whatever capacity they could and we should be grateful for this........ For it is 'In giving that starts the receiving process'.

15.01.2022 On reflection of COVID-19, I see so many positives irrespective of these challenging and unforgiving times... Here's what I see....... A foot on the break of life so we can...... Exercise a kinder side of life. Equality. Being a 'Human being' not a 'Human doing'. Having an 'attitude of gratitude'. Having self-care, so it serves others around you better. Being humble, having the noble choice to forgo your status and use your influence to serve others before yourself. Forgiving others, but more importantly, forgiving yourself and experiencing peace and freedom from within. Nourishing your mind with positive thoughts, and reflecting on beautiful memories of loved ones past and present and creating new ones for the future. Eating better than before because we are not rushing around so much. As a very beautiful soul shared with me a few days ago, these are her words, not mine... 'Now we are in the school of patience, tolerance, and durability!. Be a good student and love equally all lectures. Liv (Olivia)

13.01.2022 A message of Hope from Liv Know that through this year, we have all had the opportunity to address many things, on the flip side you can also recognise that you are still growing and developing. It feels like we are back in our childhood years once more, learning, unlearning, relearning all aspects of life and discovering what each of us can aspire to. ... Just remember you don’t need to be perfect, you just need to be aware of the potential that’s inside of you to become all that you are truly capable of becoming. If you can’t see areas of opportunity within you yet, that’s okay. Just be graceful with any imperfections and continue to be patient with yourself through whatever process is required, but more importantly just be kind to yourself, your doing your best, that’s enough! Your growth is ongoing and who you become in the process will be a trait (s) that epitomises you as a beautiful human being. That’s a worthwhile journey and one that will create impact and a legacy that will continue for generations to come. So have courage and just exercise one small step at a time. Liv

12.01.2022 And just before the crises intervened, I was privileged to officiate the Wedding of Sharlene and Murat. An absolute honour and a beautiful family I'm blessed to be a part off..... thank you Sharlene and Murat xx Olivia first entered our lives at our Grandmother’s funeral. She immediately became part of our family and in March this year was the celebrant at our wedding. She, as always, went above and beyond to make the day special. She spent countless hours with us both on the... phone and in person making sure everything was in order for our big day. She made sure we understood all the legal requirements, had all the paperwork in order but most importantly made sure we were enjoying the process. She is one of the most loving and caring people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and we feel incredibly lucky to know her. This is not a job for Olivia, this is her passion, and this is felt by everyone be it a wedding, funeral or just general chit chat. Olivia will forever be a part of our family and I will be forever grateful to have someone like her in our lives. Love Shar and Murat xx See more

07.01.2022 Something, I think everyone needs to do from time to time Slow Me Down Lord - Wilferd Arlan Peterson Slow me down, Lord.... Ease the pounding of my heart by the quieting of my mind. Steady my hurried pace with a vision of the eternal reach of time. Give me, amid the confusion of the day, the calmness of the everlasting hills. Break the tensions of my nerves and muscles with the soothing music of the singing streams that live in my memory. Help me to know the magical, restoring power of sleep. Teach me the art of taking minute vacationsof slowing down to look at a flower, to chat with a friend, to pat a dog, to read a few lines from a good book. Remind me each day of the fable of the hare and the tortoise, that I may know that the race is not always to the swift that there is more to life than increasing its speed. Let me look upward into the branches of the towering oak and know that it grew great and strong because it grew slowly and well. Slow me down, Lord, and inspire me to send my roots deep into the soil of life’s enduring values that I may grow toward the stars of my greater destiny. Slow me down, Lord. Amen. Love Liv

06.01.2022 I LOVE BEING AN IRISH CELEBRANT I love being an Irish celebrant. My upbringing in Ireland gave me a very good grounding; education and understanding of how to be in this world. It’s extremely important to me that I demonstrate and lead with these beautiful values and principles instilled in me at a very young age and still blessed to maintain these through my adult life. 06.01.2022 Just some encouraging words to keep you all holding on..... Don’t Quit John Greenleaf Whittier When things go wrong, as they sometimes will;... When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill; When funds are low and debts are high; And you want to smile but you have to sigh. When all is pressing you down a bit; Rest if you must, but don’t you quit; Success is failure inside out; The silver tint on the clouds of doubt; And you can never tell how close you are; It may be near when it seems far. So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit It’s when things go wrong that you must not quit. Peace and Light Liv xx

06.01.2022 When you learn to put a higher value on yourself, letting go of the latter becomes easier and natural. Slow down and take the time to invest more time and energy into your physical and emotional wellbeing, and when you do, something inside of you will shift and suddenly, you will begin to stop revisiting the garbage and pain of your past and you start to look forward towards the beautiful person you are becoming So, today, honour your true self, and know your worth leads t...he path to a very peaceful and harmonious journeydon’t be afraid to take the first step. 05.01.2022 In these changing times, I feel as do many that it is so important for family and friends to have some way of paying their respects after the loss of their loved one. Having a Memorial Service is one such way A Memorial Service is a ceremony for the mourners without a burial or cremation involved in the Memorial Service. ... Memorial Services can be a time of deep sadness but more often, can also be viewed as a celebration of one’s life. There are no set rules to follow if you are planning a Memorial Service which can take place more than once and at any time after death, even years after the funeral. My aim is to ensure that the life of your loved one is not forgotten, and that all aspects of your Memorial Service is delivered in a dignified, loving and respectful way. I am DEDICATED to helping YOU however I can and remain committed to supporting you with the utmost empathy, compassion and support during a time of loss. Liv

03.01.2022 There are times when there are too few words left to heal us, when what we wish for is to be carried, when all we have left is the hope that tomorrow will be a more gentle place where in time grief eases. A shared sentiment with a family I served recently. One of the flowers represented in this floral arrangement I sought, flowers by Stem by Stem (Mornington Penninsula & Frankston) https://www.frankstonflorist.com.au ... Styled by Jessica Louise Art and Floristry - https://www.facebook.com/jessicalouiseartandflori/reviews/ was used for medical purposes for the deceased years ago. A very heartfelt moment for the family when they saw this beautiful floral tribute placed on their memorial table.

03.01.2022 I don’t believe we ever get over a significant loss, how could we, but we do learn to move through it and over time one’s grief does ease. In a time where we all have had to be aware, accept and adapt, we continue to live, and so it is with grief, we continue to do just that, live with it, and perhaps even learn to use it creatively to find our preeminent purpose in life, where we can harvest its lessons, just like the tree, we can look up at the branches and know we grew slowly and well from our loss.

01.01.2022 I love being a Funeral and Marriage celebrant. My upbringing in Ireland gave me a very good grounding; education and understanding of how to be in this world. It’s extremely important to me that I demonstrate and lead with these beautiful values and principles instilled in me at a very young age and still blessed to maintain these through my adult life.... I love to be able to express other peoples Truth and Love because its authentic and true to who they are, what they represent and whom we can all observe and learn in how to be, whether the occasion is joining two people together in marriage, the death of a loved one or the arrival of a new born; All of these ceremonies I am privileged and feel honored to be a part of.
