13.01.2022 Back in 1910 there was no state power supply, so Kinnears had to provide its own plant to generate power to the Ropeworks site in Footscray. Large suction gas engines were installed throughout the site including a four cylinder vertical gas engine which was twice the size of other gas engines used in Victoria at that time.
