I will be updating the website at the end of this week with what we are collecting as there are a few new options such as disposable razors! As well as updating info on how we will be collecting your recycling These two boxes in the first picture are full of oral care items, 15kg worth, and pens and markers, 19kg worth! 05.01.2022 My first attempt at cashew mylk! Recipe from @simplishliving on Instagram 1/3 cup cashews 4-5 cups water 1 medjool date... Pinch salt 1/4-1/2 tsp vanilla extract Soak cashews and date in water overnight. The next day add salt and vanilla extract and blend in a high powered blender until combined and smooth. Store in the fridge for around 3 days. Use in coffee or tea or on your favourite cereal or muesli! Yummo!

04.01.2022 We finally got our butts down to #detoxyourhome by @sustainabilityvictoria so we could safely dispose of household chemicals we no longer used. We also had a few things like perfumes, nail polish and essential oils that customers had bought in to us at the shop not knowing what to do with them but also not wanting to just throw them in the rubbish. It felt SO good knowing I was taking these to the appropriate place so they could be destroyed properly. The process was easy, ...I just signed up to the event online, picked the time slot on the day that worked for me and BAM, all I then had to do was show up on the morning i'd picked! The chemists took everything from my boot, I didn't have to get out of my car, it literally took about 2mins, if that. 03.01.2022 One of Miss 5's jobs is to take the full kitchen bin bag out to the rubbish bin and then put a new bin bag in. Luckily we've been composting our food scraps a bit lately so she hasn't had to worry about leaks at the bottom after a week of rubbish in the bin The beauty of compostable bags is that depending on what you're putting in your bin, and how long it takes before you need to empty the bin, you may actually get to see the start of the breakdown process of the bag hap...pen! For some, this is annoying and disgusting, and for you I would say these bags probably aren't for you and that's completely ok. For me, this doesn't bother me, I love seeing the bags at work, I also love that this process has helped generate some great conversations with my kids about what's happening to the bag and how we can reduce the chances of it happening next time as a team.
