10.01.2022 To show our support for not only the Black Lives Matter movement in the US, but also our Black Indigenous People of Colour here in Australia, LIVE: From Your Living Room has updated it’s website to contain a handful of simple, highly accessible resources that we encourage our community to utilise. Our ‘Donate Now’ button will now direct you to https://changetherecord.org.au - Australia’s only national Aboriginal led justice coalition of Aboriginal peak bodies and non-Indigen...ous allies. They work extensively to end the incarceration of, and family violence against, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Donations to Change the Record are currently being matched on their website, so, as we implore you each episode to spare what you can for our artists, we now ask the same of you to support our Indigenous Communities. Where we usually host our episodes on the website we are now hosting a special YouTube video containing an hour of incredible (free) black artwork, music and education. This video has been specifically designed to contain a number of ads, with all ad revenue being donated to various supporting bodies of the Black Lives Matter movement. This video is free to watch, and is one of the simplest ways you can help contribute financially to a very important cause. 08.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT Whilst we would usually share our casting announcements on social media in the lead-up to our upcoming episodes, LIVE: From Your Living Room has decided that right now, there is a more constructive avenue to share with you not only our wonderful cast, but some important information and resources as well. Our Episode 6 cast is now exclusively available to view via our website- https://livefromyourlivingroom.com.au... While you’re there reading-up on some truly exceptional creatives - all of whom will be presenting original work this Saturday night - we invite you to explore the other resources we’ve provided. We’ve included a handful of the many wonderful Indigenous Australian organisations that provide support and justice to our Indigenous communities, as well as links to Indigenous owned and operated businesses that are also available to support. This episode is fortunate enough to be supported by the City of Melbourne COVID-19 Arts Grants program, ensuring our artists will be paid for their work on the show. With this in mind, we will still be running a gofundme for Episode 6, with all donated funds being distributed to the organisations we have listed on our website. We feel it’s important right now to continue providing entertainment, but only if it can be used to amplify the causes and voices of those who need it most. Tune in this Saturday at 7:30pm to support not only original Australian work, but also the multitude of BIPOC communities who need our support.
