So with all endings come new beginnings, right? Yes and no. Life is something we experience daily (obviously); it changes constantly and can come with the uncertainty and unpredictability that can throw you completely off guard. Its the start of a new year, we are setting new goals and coming up with new year...s resolutions knowing full well we may not stick to them. So why not try a different approach? Create a list of "action based" short term goals you know you can achieve, and continue to add to it as you cross off the ones you've completed Goals like, shopping at the health food store or farmers markets, shooting some hoops once a week or participating in a dance class, or any sport or recreational activity you like. Create goals that provide some enjoyment which will more likely enable you to achieve them. Putting it simply, Its pretty much a list of things to do. Unless you are very self-disciplined and 100% committed to making changes, this method may be a better way of getting things done! When it comes to things like weight loss, eating healthier, sleeping more, quitting smoking or reducing stress in your life, you must make small but ongoing lifestyle changes to give you the best chance of achieving them. And when you do, the aim is to maintain those changes to continually improve or maintain your health and wellness. There is no end date when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle! 11.01.2022 Tis the season to be jolly! The Live Happy Christmas tree has made its debut for 2019! We cant stress enough that being healthy is all about balance. This time of year can be pretty hectic so it's all about the little things we can do to reduce the stress and be a little kinder to our bodies in the lead up to Christmas. First things first, get a good night's rest. Its no secret that sleep plays a vital role in good overall health. We can deal with the daily stresses of life ...a lot better if we are well rested. Secondly, be organised. Do a weekly meal prep, cook a bulk amount of brown rice on a Sunday so it's ready to go during the week or simply look at healthy ready made meals as a back up. In times like these, it's more than ok to take short cuts as long as they are well thought out. And lastly, stay positive! Your mindset is the key to sustaining good habits and taking the good with the bad. Don't sweat the small stuff and remember to appreciate the little things and the more important things like family and friends. Christmas is a time to spend with loved ones and enjoy good food. Do things that make you happy and remember not to take life too seriously.
