23.01.2022 Love this walk, have done it many times.

22.01.2022 Dear Friends of Bundeena Library I wish I was writing to tell you about an upcoming Library event but that is in the future. Definitely in 2021. Back in 2017 Dan Box came to our library to talk about his Walkley award winning Podcast on the Bowraville murders and last year he published a book on the same events.... Now I am seeking your support for a fundraiser for Poppy Box, Dan's nine year old daughter who has neuroblastoma, a very rare form of childhood cancer. This is a worldwide fundraising day organised by Poppy's aunt, Eve Kirby. Any money not required for Poppy's treatment will be donated to a UK neuroblastoma charity. (Dan and his family are back in the UK.) On Sunday, Liam Phelan (Dani's partner) will be riding up and down Eric Street 100 times to raise money for Poppy's treatment.Just so you realise what an effort that is, if Liam gets to the end he will have ridden about 120 kilometres and climbed 4500 vertical metres- about half the height of Mount Everest. (walkers of Eric Street please note!) So if you are around Eric Street you can cheer him on (a la Tour de Bundeena) and make it all worthwhile by- Donating to the crowdfunding page https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/eve-kirby-1 If you make a donation please let Liam know by email ([email protected]) or text 0429776170 Turn out on Sunday and ride a few laps, ring a bell, call out encouragement- do anything big and loud. He is starting about 5am and hopes to finish around lunchtime. Buy a cake from Rosa's cake stall. She'll be down in the village from 10am. Buy a "poppy cake" from one of Paddy the Baker's market stalls anytime during September. He is donating 100 % of these funds to poppy which is extraordinarily generous. Let's get together and show the Box family that we care and give them the best chance they have to help Poppy. Thank you Friends of Bundeena Library

11.01.2022 Hello everyone, with the weather, Royal National Park we are full signs - even though Maianbar and Bundeena aren’t usually in this it’s pretty tough for caf...es. And for you too I understand. Staff are now required to wear ) it is my understanding from official information that customers are not required ( but recommended ) to wear a mask . we have a day grace so I can work that out . My capacity inside has returned to 15 and outside 3O. The dance floor is closed. ( ok well we didn’t really have one) Please still try and visit. I don’t want to lose the cafe. I will try implement takeaway strategies for people wanting to grab something quickly without entering building but please be patient. I guess like the little engine that could we just keep trying. I’ve been really enjoying the tourists who visit and their happy energy and also the local support. Summer was meant to be the recovery from the last year and it just gets harder but I promise I will keep trying to support my community and my visitors. Will keep you updated on changes as it happens. See more
