03.01.2022 Lockdown has been tough. Professor Caroline Gurvich from the Monash Alfred Psychiatry Unit (so not exactly a 'hippy trippy' organisation - LOL) conducted a national survey tracking mental health in 1500 Australians which identified 3 coping strategies that boosted mental health: Positive reframing, acceptance and humour. She said "laughter - finding something to have a good giggle at" even if it was a light-hearted meme, was also found to be helpful. So, moral of the story, lockdown or no lockdown...if you're feeling a little down, turn towards things that lighten your mood and find a way to look for the positives in a challenging situation.
