25.01.2022 THE ULTIMATE HANGOVER ALBUM! The place: 4 Olde Malte House, Galway behind The Kings Head The Year: 2006 The Time: Who knows?! There was a party last night!... You open your groggy eyes and stumble down the stairs. In the living room is Andy rolling a cigarette amongst a disgusting array of empty beer cans and half smoked cigarettes on the floor. 2 pools of spilt beer sit on the floor and the rest of the floor is sticky with a grimy black residue. You hit PLAY, collapse onto the couch and close your eyes. You groan your way through the first song as your hangover makes you think you won't touch another beer again. Andy lights his cigarette and puffs away. Track 2 comes on and you have a beer can in hand. A few gingerly sips as you get in the groove. You pick up a few emptys and chuck them in the nearest bin bag. Andy is at it! Picking up cans and cigarette butts. Track 3 is playing and you drag yourself to your feet to give him a hand. A track or two plays and the disgusting mess is no more. The major puddles are mopped up. Collapse to the couch again for a good drink of that beer can as The Cure starts to work its magic and Andy smokes a cigarette as he sips from his can. A few tracks play. A track or two more and a can or two and the floor is mopped. It is now wet but it seems heavenly compared to the sticky, grimy mess it was earlier. Upstairs for a wash as Andy rolls himself another cigarette. Downstairs to the kitchen for a baked beans on toast as Andy sits drinking a can. The album plays on as you eat. The album is ending and the cans have run out. Off to the Off License to restock. Or better yet Neachtain's for a pint of Guinness. Tonight you'll do it all over again. This is Galway! This is The Groove Armada Ultimate Hangover Album!
