25.01.2022 What types of personal insurance is there, why would you need it...... https://youtu.be/oOyRIRXIEbE

25.01.2022 Very good read by Craig James from CommSec.

24.01.2022 A message about the impact of COVID-19 The situation: At time of writing, financial markets remain under severe pressure from the coronavirus outbreak, now formally designated COVID-19 by the World Health Organisation (WHO). While infection rates in China (the epicentre of the outbreak) have declined significantly, the number of infections outside of China is increasing, particularly in Italy, Korea and Iran. In recent days, the falls in share markets have been compounded by ...a sharply lower oil price affecting the performance of energy shares. The lower oil price reflects a sharply weaker world economy and hence demand for oil, but also tensions between the world’s major oil producers. The economic impacts of coronavirus: There is little doubt that the economic impacts of coronavirus on China are likely to be severe the country’s GDP will almost certainly show a decline in the March quarter. Beyond China, the economic impacts are also likely to be serious: the direct impact of a decline in China’s economy, which accounts for around 16 per cent of world GDP; the indirect impacts through disruptions to supply chains across the Asia Pacific and elsewhere; the impacts on travel and tourism. Here in Australia, we are likely to see more economic impact from the coronavirus than the bush fires, as tourism and education exports are currently being severely disrupted. What should our clients do? While you may be concerned about the economic impact of the coronavirus, particularly its effect on your super investment, we encourage you to remember that super is the longest-term investment many of us may ever have. While we have indeed seen negative returns in the past month, these follow many years of very strong returns. In terms of what you should do right now, for the majority of clients our answer is: nothing. Market downturns, whatever their trigger, are inevitable, and temporary. Every crisis, every downturn, every recession comes to an end bar none. And it is highly likely that this crisis will be no different. There are two key things to remember: 1. Moving, selling or changing strategies now, after markets have declined, locks in a loss of capital. 2. A more conservative strategy by its nature delivers lower long-term returns, and is not likely to capture the full benefit when share markets eventually (and inevitably) recover. If you wish to speak with us regarding this topic please call us on 0754456988. Here is a great article from the ABC yesterday reinforcing our views and strategy moving forward. https://www.abc.net.au//coronavirus-fears-stock-/12046096

22.01.2022 Important SCAM update from Mike. We actually had a scam call today pretending to be from the ATO . Please be aware and do not under any circumstances call them back or respond.

20.01.2022 Sometimes we need others to help us realise our value. I am so proud today. A client of ours who has supported our business and shown faith in my abilities for the past 10 years, today had his Income Protection Claim approved by TAL. He is a self employed and very successful diesel fitter and has been off work with a severely broken ankle that included surgery with 2 metal plates and 10 screws. He was working with heavy machinery when a 250kg metal plate fell on his ank...le, breaking it in multiple places. This morning a large sum of money was deposited into his bank account by TAL as a result of his claim being approved and this will continue until he is ready to return to work. The phone call to him this morning is one of the best things about my work. What are you worth? https://youtu.be/LdKiL7jQc3I

19.01.2022 Reminder everyone. If you have taken money from super through the Covid19 Early Release of Super Scheme and are now not sure if you qualify due to changing circumstances. Please contact us urgently so we can offer you advice in this regard.

17.01.2022 Our sponsored U13 Maroochy Boomers play in their first final today. Best of luck girls.

15.01.2022 Last week the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) via their Integrity and Compliance department provided an important statement regarding the COVID19 - Early release of Super. In light of this update we thought it prudent to ensure that all of our clients are aware of its contents and the potential impact. You can read this update here - https://www.ato.gov.au//COVID-19-Early-release-of-super--/ or read below. In summary you can only access your super if meet one of the follo...wing criteria: You must be unemployed. You have recently lost a job. You must be receiving government support payments (this is not Job Keeper as this is a government subsidy not a support payment). Examples of support payments are Job Seeker, Youth Allowance, Parenting Payments or Farm Household Allowance. You have lost 20% or more of your working hours or have lost 20% or more of their turnover as a sole-trader. The ATO have access to all income and financials via their Single Touch Payroll system (STP), superannuation, personal tax returns and via the department of social services. If through these access portals those who have applied for early access to super are found not to meet the criteria mentioned above they can and will be investigated. Behaviours that attract the attention of the ATO include applying for super access when there is no change to your regular salary and wage or employment information, artificially arranging your affairs to meet the eligibility criteria or making false statements or fraudulent attempts to meet the eligibility criteria or withdrawing and recontributing super for a tax advantage. Those caught will have the withdrawal amount added to their taxable income and penalties applied of up to $12,000. The ATO have advised that financial planning professionals, accountant and super funds are required by law to provide information to the ATO where they believe that an individual has made a false or misleading statement to the ATO. Should you require any further information about this topic or if you are concerned that you may have accessed your super early without meeting the above criteria please contact us on 07 54458988, your accountant or the ATO on 131020.

03.01.2022 Sometimes this business is hard. Its really hard when you lose a one of kind beautiful soul to Cancer. Rest In Peace Deb. You always brightened my day when I went to see you. You would make me a cup of tea and we would sit outside listening to the birds whilst chatting about your dreams for retirement with your hubby. The world has lost an absolute gem of a lady who will be missed greatly. My clients are my family and this hurts.

02.01.2022 A huge milestone for many businesses and today we are very proud to have been in business for 15 years. 2005 seems like a lifetime ago but along the way we have helped many clients navigate the ever changing financial landscape. A sincere and heartfelt thank you for your support, friendship and loyalty. Now lets get stuck into 2020
