25.01.2022 Our technician Carl probing into a termite mound to confirm termite species. The mud of this species is a much lighter colour than other mound builders ie. nasutitermes exitiosus and it turned out to be coptotermes lacteus. This nest was found in bush land and these termites usually attack timber on the ground such as fence posts, poles and fences but not normally houses.
25.01.2022 Not all termites require treatment! This guy is a damp wood termite porotermes adamsoni and is usually found in decaying, damp tree stumps. (Yes you should get rid of them) Occasionally they will make their way into a house when there is damp timber in contact with the ground, but do not pose a risk to dry timbers. Once the timber has been removed/replaced or the leak to bathroom/laundry has been repaired and the timber dries out, Ta da! no more termite problem.
24.01.2022 Possums are getting creative in their attempts to stay warm this winter. Notice the hole at the top of the door where this possum has scratched and chewed itself an entry point, the greasy dirty marks around the hole make it quite obvious. From here the possum is able to access pipework and make its way up through the unit block. Wire has been used to block a previous entry point to the left of the door. The top of the door now has a steel plate to prevent re-entry.
24.01.2022 Termite activity was discovered in a door jamb. Once the timbers were opened this soldier termite (coptotermes species) felt threatened and as a defence mechanism exudes a white material from a pore on the front of its head.
22.01.2022 Apart from the substantial timber damage, termites can also cause damage electrical wires which can lead to fires. If its been a while since your last termite inspection, give us a call and well send you a technician with at least 20 years experience.
22.01.2022 Livermore Pest Control welcomes a new team member to our family
22.01.2022 We are aware that some of our valued clients are struggling to get hold of us on the phone. This issue is due to a NBN / Optus / Telstra debacle second to non and can only be described as the worst joke ever laid on a small business. At this stage Optus (or Telstra - whomever you believe) has not fully ported our number so for some reason we can only received calls from Optus numbers (we dont know why this is and no-one can tell us). We have been promised they are working on this and can only apologise to you that are struggling. If you are struggling please either call Liam on 0481 176 770 or Andrew on 0413 122 982 and either of us will sort this out. Again we apologise for this mess, but we are in their hands. #nbndebacle #optusdebacle #telstradebacle
21.01.2022 We are currently having some issues with our phone due to NBN connection error. We hope that this will be rectified by Wednesday. Until then, if you need to get in contact with us you can message us on Facebook, send us an email - [email protected] or contact our mobile on 0481 176 770. Thank you for understanding and apologies in advance for any inconvenience.
21.01.2022 Plastic mesh was no match for this possum looking for a warm place to sleep. She even found a nice cozy cardboard box in this garage to snooze in.
19.01.2022 Brown trapdoor spiders live in a hole in the ground, but this one had traveled away from its home and was found in a pool. Usually there will be some webbing near the hole covered by leaves or debris. Approaching prey touches the webbing and signals to the trapdoor that its time to attack.
17.01.2022 Happy Retirement Brett! Today we had a joyful yet sad day in that after 16+ years, Brett has chosen to retire and of all things go fishing! We thank Brett for these 16 years and especially for his time and commitment since joining the team at Enviro-PCS and wish him all the best for the future. Hopefully he will not come up with stories of "the one that got away", as the pests never got away from him in the last 16 years with Livermore Pest Control. #gonefishing #happyretirement #enviropcs #sydneypestcontrol #pestcontrol #sydneytermites

17.01.2022 Spring is a great time to tackle those jobs youve been putting off all winter. Clearing out stored goods that are blocking an inspection, or could be hiding some nasty surprises is a great start. Remember if you do find anything you think may be termite activity, please dont disturb it or use any household sprays on termites as it can reduce the treatment options available and increase the time taken to control the infestation. Red back spiders are also likely to be hidden outside and in garages and now is a great time to treat them, so give us a call.
15.01.2022 If youre having problems with roosting birds, give us a call. There are bird proofing options available. In this case, bird spikes were a quick, cheap and effective method of control.
15.01.2022 Wed like to take this opportunity to wish all our clients a very Merry Christmas and a safe new year. Our office will be closed from today and will reopen on Monday 7th January. We will be checking emails and voicemails during this time and will get back to you as soon as we can.
15.01.2022 Termite chemical barriers are not just a surface spray. They require drilling through concrete and/or trenching in soil to create a barrier between your home and the termites nest.
14.01.2022 Happy 2019 everyone! Were back in the office and on the road today.
14.01.2022 The damage to this handle is caused by furniture beetle borer. It attacks dry, soft timbers. Mostly those more than 20 years old - like floorboards and furniture. The problem commonly begins with infested furniture and then spreads to other susceptible timbers. The beetle lays up to 100 eggs into cracks in the timber. They hatch into larvae which eat their way through the timber and become a beetle, leaving the timber through round holes. The life cycle is usually about 3 yea...rs. Borer activity is usually determined by the presence of flight exit holes and/or frass (dry timber dust). Because of the delay between the initial infestation and the appearance of these signs, it is possible that borer activity may go undetected for years. Due to the life cycle of furniture beetles, annual treatments are required for 3 years to eradicate this pest from floorboards.

12.01.2022 When are active termites a good thing? When theyre feeding on a bait bag. These termites have been feeding on their bait for 2 weeks now, which is exactly what we want to happen to ensure the colony is eliminated as quickly as possible. This is a very busy time of year for termites and weve had a lot of termite discoveries, so if its been over 12 months since you last inspection give us a call and well be happy to help you out.
12.01.2022 These termites have trailed from underneath a shipping container and attacked the stored goods inside.
12.01.2022 Don't these little critters look cute .... NO! Please be aware that they can and will do significant damage to your house and property if left undetected and not controlled. 11.01.2022 An unusual find for our technician when checking an in-concrete termite bait station. A lizard nursery!
10.01.2022 When you get stuck into your gardens this spring, keep a look out for spiders. Funnel web spiders are ground spiders, this one is particularly angry and rearing up to strike. With all the rain the funnel webs holes in the ground have been flooded and they are on the move looking for a dryer home. Remember to check your shoes and anything you pick up off the ground, even inside as they can easily find their way into your home.
09.01.2022 This is an inground termite bait station which has been monitored by our client and now has termites feeding on the timbers. Now the station filled with bait for the termites to feed on. Well be back in 2 weeks to check on their progress and re fill the stations
08.01.2022 Many of our happy customers have started of as someone elses very unhappy customers. We hear lots of stories about inspectors who dont get into the roof or go under the house. We always inspect all the timber we can get to, including: inside, outside, roof, sub-floor, fences, sheds, garages/carports, retaining walls, decks etc. That way if there is an issue, you get to know about it. Not be told everything is fine, only to find this later.
07.01.2022 Do you have any timbers tucked away under your home or stacked in a unused area? If you do, you run the risk of them acting like a termite magnet. What looks fine from the top of the pile, may not be the case for timber further down, and firewood is a common culprit which gets discovered around this time of year. As you start to work through your wood pile, keep an eye out for signs of termites, their workings and mud leads. Burning the piece of wood you find them in will not kill the nest and their attack will continue. If you think youve found something, replace the piece of wood and give us a call. Well identify what youve found and provide advice on the treatment options available to you.
07.01.2022 Another successful termite underway by Livermore Pest Control. What youre looking at here is a subterranean termite bait station installed in a roof void of a customers home where termites are feeding on roofing timbers. The goal of baiting of treatments is total colony elimination. When done properly, colony elimination is guaranteed. In the top right picture you can see termites foraging in the station waiting for us to top it back up again. ... For this particular colony, it will be their last meal. Now that theyre feeding its only a matter of time now until we achieve colony elimination. Dont risk your investment. Were finding active termites in homes on almost a daily basis. Right now, throughout Sydney they are very active. Have regular termite inspections, discuss prevention and protection strategies with your pest manager. Dont let your home become their lunchbox.
07.01.2022 Has it been a while since your last termite inspection? Take advantage of our limited special for our Facebook followers before time runs out. Just mention this post and make sure your follow us on Facebook! Easy.
07.01.2022 Rats do a lot of hidden damage inside your roof and walls. As you can see in this photo, they have stripped these wires. If the home owner had not carried out renovations, they may not have noticed until the power failed, or they had a fire. If you hear noises in the roof, get it checked out sooner rather than later because waiting can have costly and dangerous consequences.
06.01.2022 Make sure you dont have any unwanted surprises outside this festive season. We still have vacancies before Christmas but these will fill fast, so give us a call now to arrange your pest treatment.
04.01.2022 The warm humidity of summer is the time of year termites are at their most active. This colony has been very busy expanding their nest underneath kitchen cupboards in the northern part of Sydney and we have started a baiting program to eliminate the colony. If your last termite inspection was 12 months ago now is a great time to give us a call to arrange a check of your home for termites, wood rot and borers.
04.01.2022 This is a very large nest of Nasutitermes exitiosus termites. Their preference for eating hardwood has been thwarted by this fence made of concrete. Instead they have found another food source nearby, probably including the power pole on the ground.
03.01.2022 Take care when choosing where to store your wine! The vintage of these is now a mystery because they were stacked on timber under a house. Termites have attacked the timber then eaten the labels off the wine bottles.
02.01.2022 Whats wrong with this garden? Gardens like this one might look good but they create a way for termites to gain concealed entry into your home. How? The plants are so close to the house and the soil level is built up too high over the slab level.... What can I do if I have a garden like this? 1. Lower the soil level 2. Keep space between plants and the house so there is a chance to at least visually inspect the edge of the slab. But thats a lot of work...... Yes digging it out is a big job but you might end up saving thousands in termite treatment and building repair costs.
02.01.2022 Make the most off the break in the rain, just like this guy! Weve had a lot of reports of rats, mice and cockroaches this week. If youre experiencing problems with any of these, give us a call before the infestation gets any worse.
02.01.2022 Humans werent the only ones looking for a dry warm place last week. When you hear noises in your roof, dont always assume its rats or mice. It is quite possible possums may be present and they are protected, so give us a call to investigate the situation.
