23.01.2022 REDEVELOPMENT NEWS #73 | Our Temporary Education Centre is off to a solid start with the concrete slab now underway! The current Education Centre is located in the Thomas and Rachel Moore building of the hospital and will be demolished next year to enable main works to start on the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP). The temporary building is expected to be operational from early next year and will be a training and research centre for students and staff during the redevelopment. 21.01.2022 REDEVELOPMENT NEWS #72 | Theres a hive of construction activity around the hospital to prepare for main works next year. Back in March, the vacant Ron Dunbier building was demolished to enable a new road and multi-storey car park to be built. The new road, expected to be complete in early 2021, will provide access to the new car park and drop off area. A contract to build the car park will be awarded shortly, with construction due to start later this year. 16.01.2022 INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY || My name is Michael. I sustained my disability 28 years ago when I was in a car accident it had seemed I had dropped into a deep hole with no light at the end of the tunnel. Despite this, I have a ‘never give up attitude’ and I can achieve whatever I set my mind to. I am now living independently I have attended TAFE courses to learn how to speak, write and read English and am currently studying to become a pastor. I keep active by walking 20 km every day. I’m an avid writer and one day would like to publish my writing. My philosophy in life is to believe in yourself, keep going and never stop.

15.01.2022 HELLO I AM Paul Lee. Paul works as a clinical dietitian at Liverpool Hospital as a member of the head and neck multidisciplinary team. "I work closely with oncologists, surgeons, nursing and other allied health staff in managing the complex and unique nutritional needs of patients with head and neck cancers," he said. "I support my patients in meeting their nutritional goals before, during and after their cancer treatment. It is rather rewarding knowing that my role as a dietitian is highly valued among the multidisciplinary team and that medical nutrition therapy can have a profound impact on cancer treatment outcomes and patient quality of life. 15.01.2022 HELLO I AM Andrea Jones. Andrea is a nurse graduate. Her first rotation was in CB4D renal and is now working in CB4B vascular. "I always wanted a profession where I could have job satisfaction and make a difference in people's life," she said. "Nursing has given me that satisfaction. Every day, no matter how crazy the day gets, I am happy knowing I have done my best and have impacted someone's life in a positive way." Andrea said as a nurse she is at the epicentre of patient care. "I am able to actively plan, evaluate and deliver personalised care for my patients," she said. "As nurses, we work in a multidisciplinary team to provide the best health outcomes for our patients." She said seeing an extremely unwell patient recover and go home was amazing. "It makes my heart leap with happiness."

Check out the progress on construction of our temporary Education Centre on the hospital’s eastern campus from a concrete slab in late August to a fully framed structure, complete with roofing installation by late September. 14.01.2022 REDEVELOPMENT NEWS #75 | It was all smiles this week when children from the hospital child care centre were given a close look at whats happening on the temporary education centre construction site. The child care centre is adjacent to the site but separated by construction fencing, so there was lots of excitement when the little ones had the chance to view the final concrete pour for the buildings foundation slab. 06.01.2022 REDEVELOPMENT NEWS #76 | Did you know that Liverpool Hospital is the major trauma service for South Western Sydney Local Health District and services more than one million people? About 3000 trauma cases present to the hospital each year, and many of these are major traumas such as head, spine, chest, and abdominal injuries. The redevelopment will provide increased capacity through new and refurbished theatres, as well as innovative technology to support clinicians in providing enhanced patient care. Doctors and nurses recently got a feel for the future emergency operating theatre when a life-size mock version was created for them to inspect and provide feedback to the project team, helping to ensure that end users are involved in the redevelopment process. #PrecinctUpdate

"I work with adults who have a wide range of swallowing and communication disorders," she said. 01.01.2022 REDEVELOPMENT NEWS #107 | We’ve reached an exciting milestone in the delivery of our new $50 million multi-storey car park project. The 40-metre tower crane that will help build the structure is now on site, and already busily lifting materials. The crane will be a feature of the Liverpool skyline until late 2021.
