22.01.2022 Social distancing when we come on farm is so important to prevent the spread of COVID-19 ...but doesn’t stop at the gate! Some handy tips when you don’t have a ruler. 1. Social Distancing - keep 1.5 meters apart. Pro tip this is the length of an adult Holstein Friesian milking cow 2. Wear a face mask - if you cannot social distance but keep at least a sheep length apart.... 3. Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 30 seconds (or to the tune of Old MacDonald Had A Farm). And in a pinch use some hand sanitizer! Moovuloos! I think ewe all have it!! Keep safe out there!! Cheers from the Team!!

13.01.2022 Ruminant of the Week!! The Angora Goat Did you know the Angora goats were first imported into Australia in 1832 and 1833. They came from M Polonceau's stud in France to the property of the Riley family of Raby, New South Wales. Yes...just down the road from the clinic.Pure bred Angoras were imported from Ottoman Empire in subsequent years up to 1873, to properties in New South Wales, Victoria, and later South Australia. We also like them cause their babies look like Muppet Babies. And fun fact..when their coat is shorn...the product is call Mohair...not wool.

10.01.2022 Wishing Moo a Happy Easter! We would like to wish all our wonderful clients and their families a Happy Easter, we will be closed from Friday 10th April to Monday 13th April.

04.01.2022 Welcome Dr Sam Rowe to the team! Sam grew up in an indigenous community on Groote Eylandt, NT. His was inspired to become a vet at an early age when a vet from Darwin visited the island for a spey clinic. Sam is highly skilled and after he graduated from James Cook University he worked in a dairy practice located in the Atherton Tablelands, QLD. During that time he completed his Masters of Veterinary Medicine through Massey University and sat board exams with the American Boa...rd of Veterinary Practitioners in dairy practice. Sam then moved to Minnesota to do a PhD under Sandra Godden in applied veterinary epidemiology. He was involved in conducting field trials and observational studies to evaluate practical and sustainable ways for dairy farmers to reduce antibiotic use. Sam has a keen interest in the management of diseases on dairy farms with an emphasis on mastitis and antibiotic stewardship as well as applied epidemiology, causal inference and biostatistics. Sam has hit the ground running and you may see him on our next visit to your farm.

04.01.2022 We had some excitement last night at the LVS with the birth of these lovely goat kids. Triplets!! This lovely doe, Shirla needed a little assistance with the delivery of her overdue kids. Two little girls (does) and a billy were delivered safely after she was induced to kid. Amazingly, this threesome worked out the most efficient way to get to the milk bar in no time. Welcome to the world little ones. You are all super cute. : Georgina Cameron

02.01.2022 Social distancing is the key to reducing the spread of Covid -19! So, if you are not sure what 1.5 meters is...let’s put into terms we can all understand! Please keep us safe when we come to see your animals! One helper and let’s keep 1 cow length apart! Thank you! And if you are sick please inform our staff before we arrive so we can attend your animal and keep safe! #stayhomestaysafe #socialdistancingworks... #inthisfigthtogether See more
