20.01.2022 Older Australians want more choice and control over their home care, clear information about fees and quality, and independent advice to help navigate the system, according to new research hailed by LiveWell Care as further proof of the need for funded navigation support to be built into the aged care system. https://cprc.org.au//choosing-care-the-difficulties-in-na/

19.01.2022 There has been a shift in aged care to the 'salutogenic approach' which focuses on factors that support health and wellbeing, rather than pathogenic factors that cause disease and ill-health. The salutogenic approach takes us beyond problems and symptoms towards joy, happiness, enthusiasm, hope, and even excitement.

10.01.2022 In supporting our clients get 'approval' for Government funded Home Care Packages, they are often shocked at the length of time required to wait until a Home Care Package is 'allocated' to them. The below article sheds light on the length of time consumers are waiting for support.

09.01.2022 "Navigating aged care requires an older person and their carer to make difficult emotional, financial, health and housing-related decisions, often under stress and time pressures, and with limited prior exposure to the system. It is obvious to us that there should be more services made available to people to navigate aged care. Having a single front door to the aged care system is a positive change, but help to find that door and then navigate the labyrinth beyond is required. People need integrated, face-to-face support and linking services, with local knowledge, to help them access the right service." https://agedcare.royalcommission.gov.au//interim-report-vo
