24.01.2022 How was your little ones first day back at school this year? What about you?

24.01.2022 Lots of stuff to do that I should be doing... but I just needed to take a moment to relax, breathe and soak up some vitamin D

23.01.2022 Saturday September 5th is all about making sure your home is safe from fire. This first step is easy. Make sure your home has a Fire blanket and if you have a fire extinguisher, make sure that it is in good working order. Most house fires can be prevented or easily extinguished by using a Fire Blanket to smother the flame. It is also important to have a Fire Plan ready incase of fire. This is something you can do as a family so that everyone is on the same page. Do your ...family know how to exit the home from each room? Do they know where the meeting point will be? If someone from the family is out, who is in charge of contacting them? Lets all work together to ensure that our First Responders do not have to go through the trauma and devastation of late last year and early this year again. 2020 has been difficult enough already. 23.01.2022 What is one thing you need to let go of today?

22.01.2022 What intentions are you setting for today?

22.01.2022 A very distressing video is being shared across all social media platforms today. Your school may not alert you to the risk of exposure to your child. Perhaps... this is to minimise the risk of children looking for the content, we don’t know why the department of education has made this directive. What you can do: 1: Ask your child to stay off social media for a few days while social media removes all copies of the video. 2: ask your child if they have ever seen anything that worries, scared or upsets them on a screen. 3: check your child’s privacy settings and ensure they only interact with people they know personally. This is relevant for gaming as well as social media. 4: scroll through their social media with them and check what kind of content they do see on a daily basis. Play their games with them and listen to the conversations that happen while gaming. 5: install parental controls if you haven’t already. 6: talk to your child about help seeking for online issues. 16.01.2022 I am... two of the most powerful words. For what you put after them shapes your reality. Write your affirmations and read them to your self twice a day, it will keep you calm, focused and in control over of your life. Be creative and innovative about the things you want to change or create in your life. Affirmations are positive statements that you can say to yourself to change and overcome limiting beliefs, negative thoughts and negative behaviours/habits. When you repeat ...them often you start to believe in them, and when you believe in them your mind starts to create positive thoughts about your self and your life. You then start to change. You become calmer and confidant in yourself and you start seeing positive changes in your life. Start with the word I ........... or "I am..........." State clearly what you want to change or create in your life in a positive way and the present tense. Add a feeling and emotion to it. Keep it true. Keep it real. You can start by stating the good things about yourself and your life. Example: "I am lucky to have the ability to move." (there are people out there that are not so lucky). "I love walking outside and seeing the trees and the birds flying around" (it will motivate you to go for a walk).

10.01.2022 Anyone who was in Greater Brisbane on or since 2 January is required to follow the same lockdown rules where they are now - this includes Gold Coasters. Please ...only leave your home for the essential reasons and wear a mask until 6pm Monday (11th January). Greater Brisbane will go into lockdown for three days from 6pm tonight, while contact tracers work to ensure the UK strain of COVID-19 is not circulating in the community. For full details on the Greater Brisbane 3-day lockdown, visit https://bit.ly/3npSKfA . If you have any symptoms at all, get tested immediately and quarantine at home until you receive a negative result. See more

09.01.2022 I’m raising average kids. They will not be going pro in any sport. They will not be the valedictorian. They will not be landing on the moon. And they will not b...e President. But I pray that they will be extraordinary at love. They will be the friend who makes homemade soup and delivers it when a family loses a loved one. They will always return their grocery carts. They will mow their neighbor’s lawn or shovel their snow-filled driveway just because. They will know how to listenespecially to those who need it most. They will make time to return phone calls. They will still send cards on birthdays. They will know how to forgive. They will be empathy givers. They will know how to say, I’m sorry. They will know how to act vulnerable and cry in someone else’s arms. Oh, and this one’s importantthey’ll know how to love themselves by giving themselves grace, love, time off, and setting boundaries. Yup. I’m raising average kids. Average kids who will be extraordinary at LOVE.

07.01.2022 How will your week go...?

07.01.2022 These look good

07.01.2022 Motivation is a powerful thing when we feel it but it's not something we can just switch on & off when we please. If you just sit around waiting for motivation to strike, you may never get things done but pushing through and doing them anyway shows real grit & perseverance. Stop waiting - just get it done

03.01.2022 Some questions to ask yourself as we begin another New Year

02.01.2022 Shift your fitness goals this year from being just about weight loss or body image and exercise to feel good Do it for your mental health. Do it to feel energised and to get stronger & fitter. Do it because you want to feel less stressed and be more focussed and productive

02.01.2022 " + = " This is one of our favourite quotes from the book "Peak Performance" by Brad Stulberg & Steve Magness. If we wish to get be...tter at anything, we need to stress ourselves, pushing beyond our current limits either physically or mentally. In turn, the body adapts to this stress by becoming stronger. BUT this will only occur if there is sufficient recovery (rest). Exercise essentially breaks our body down, & with adequate recovery, our body rebuilds even stronger than before. Too much stress (either physically or mentally), & insufficient rest can result in injury, illness, or burnout. Not enough stress, or too much rest & the result is complacency or decreased physical fitness. How to grow (physically & mentally) Step outside your comfort zone & challenge yourself either physically or mentally Ensure sufficient rest and recovery. Physically the number 1 recovery tool you have at your disposal is sleep. Mental recovery may be relaxing, talking with friends, meditating or simply doing something fun! So ask yourself these questions, are you over or under stressing your body & mind? AND are you getting sufficient rest & recovery? To read more about this topic, head to our blogs: "Stress Less! 02.01.2022 We’re back...!!! First PT sessions of 2021 are done for the morning

02.01.2022 I want you to try something this week Every time you find yourself struggling... instead of telling yourself it's difficult, tell yourself it's doable. Instead of telling yourself you're failing, tell yourself you're learning. ... Instead of telling yourself you're not doing enough, tell yourself you're doing the best you can. Every single day, throughout the entire day, for one week. Who's in?
