22.01.2022 Hi all! Many thanks again to all you wonderful people who came along to our first LRC session, at Kingston Beach! We certainly had a heap of fun singing and eating with you all This is a general reminder that session 2 is next Wednesday evening (26th Feb), kicking off at 6pm, so do try to give yourself a few early minutes to arrive and settle in. Don't forget you're welcome make use of this page, and/or the Season 1 event page to coordinate ride-sharing/ carpooling. Here i...s the event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/2998934926807179/ I believe we'll be relocating to the other lounge-space, given what a fabulous turn-out we had last week! This should give us a little more room. If you would like to review the parts we covered last week, don't forget they are up on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/livingroomchoir Lastly, here are a couple of happy-snaps from last week Looking forward to seeing you next Wednesday evening! xx
15.01.2022 This highly complex piece of code will make perfect sense to those who made it to rehearsal this evening! thanks for a fabulous night everyone!
13.01.2022 Hey folks, good on you everyone who's signed up already for the Autumn season of choir, starting this Wednesday! It's not to late to join in. 09.01.2022 Good morning, wonderful choir-lings! Hope you've had an excellent week since we last met. Just a few reminders ahead of next week's rendezvous (11th March): 1. All parts we've covered for our first 3 songs are here on Soundcloud for you to pursue at your leisure: ... https://soundcloud.com/livingroomchoir Many thanks to Teri for her work getting these up there for us! What a star! 2. A bit of optional 'homework' - the original recording of Come on Up to the House by Tom Waits: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUE-ic_Q0g4 We'll be looking at adding those verses next week. So have a listen and get a feel for the rhythms and story of the song if you get a chance. 3. We'll be kicking off at 6pm sharp, so if you can, please give yourself a few minutes head-start to arrive and settle in. Otherwise just 'come on up the the house' and join us when you arrive, as we know it can be a busy time to be travelling :) All the best for the week ahead! And really looking forward to session 3!
07.01.2022 Good afternoon choilings! As it looks as though there a quite a few people who aren't able to make it to tonight's session, we've decided to postpone the first session to next week the 9th of September. We so look forward to singing with you all again, and want to ensure our first meeting after the long break is as joyful and harmonic a reunion as possible! You're still welcome to join us for dinner of course ;) ... See you all next week wonderful people!
01.01.2022 Hello! Who would be up for a front yard choir when the Spring starts? We can have a couple of fire pits to sit around, and call it off if ever it's raining. Singing is known to be a high-risk activity for Covid19-transmission, but being outdoors reduces that risk very significantly. Let us know if you would feel comfortable with this idea, and of course we can refund anyone who doesn't want to participate. One small complication is that Teri is moving to another part of the s...tate in mid-October, so it would be great if we could have the 7 remaining sessions compressed into two months, which would require weekly meetings instead of fortnightly. Would this be possible for all of you who want to participate? The dates we're looking at are September 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, and October 7th & 14th. If any of the dates were to be rained out, we would add extra weeks on to the end of the season. The time could be the same (6-8:30pm with a half hour break for dinner), or could start half an hour earlier (5:30-8pm) to get more of the daylight if people are able to make it that soon after work etc. Please let us know your preference.
