25.01.2022 A couple of months ago I held an online circle journey. With the seasons of the earth as a guide to our inner cycles we explored aspects of our wonderful bodies. Felt into her more with a shared a gentle movement practice. It was so much fun and deeply nourishing. And below is what Leanne had to share about her experience.... And now the creative juices are flowing as I create the playlists for the upcoming in person circle journey next term. Using movement and dance to allow our bodies to move us. It is going to be SO much fun! I'd love for you to join us!

23.01.2022 With the restrictions changed to allow more to gather together - it is time to enjoy in person circles (with minimal attendance) again. Yay! Embodied Dance Circle is for women to connect into your inner realms and to express through movement, breath and sound. You are welcome to move in ways that you need even if it is something that you wouldn’t normally do or even consider as ‘dance’. In circle you will be guided with movements that stretch and awaken your body, leadi...ng to dance space to move to the unique rhythm of your own body. We start next Monday 25th. Bookings are essential. You can book one date or all! "Dancing has had nothing to do with dancing well, being young or revealing one’s stylishness. Summed up sharply we might put it like this: dancing has been valued for allowing us to transcend our individuality and for inducing us to merge into a larger, more welcoming and more redemptive whole. 14.01.2022 What is a doula? The word ‘doula’ comes for ancient Greek, which translates to servant or handmaiden. Mostly I see it is as being understood to mean a ‘woman who serves’. Long ago women assisted other women to bring children into the world. Women would labour and birth at home and were attended by female friends, relatives and traditional midwives.... As birth became more medicalised - which was potentially life-saving for high-risk mothers, - for many low-risk women there became a large number of interventions that impacted on healthy labour and delivery of their baby. Women became disconnected from the birth process and the knowledge and confidence was 'lost' to support and guide birthing women. While the role of doula was an ancient one, it wasn’t until the 1970s and 1980s, the professional doula arose to meet this need for women to restore their voice, needs and power in the birth process, supporting birth and the newborn mother phase for women in our modern times. Clinical studies show that the presence of a doula reduces the need for medical intervention and supports a higher success rate for breastfeeding in the days following the birth. Doula’s ‘mother the mother’ and don’t’ perform any medical or clinical tasks. They support mothers in many ways by encouraging them in informed decision making, providing reassurance, emotional support and comforting presence, and providing and suggesting techniques to assist in labour and birth and can help establish breast feeding. There are also doulas that specialise in postpartum support and offer many services which include emotional support, organising errands and meals after the baby has been born. In February I completed my Birth and Post-partum Doula certificate! If you have the need for a birth doula, or know someone who does, get in touch via PM!

13.01.2022 ....."Fear supports us to touch the edges of our comfort while inviting us to go beyond it. Fear acts as a fierce protector, imprinting our systems with what a true NO feels like. Fear jolts us present to face our own humanity while recognizing lifes vulnerable fragility.... Fear arouses an alchemy in which body and soul are invited to mingle in the space between action and reaction. This is where instinct and intuition take each others hands and dance with our impulses......."

11.01.2022 Almost every morning I Dance Waking my body. Moving, stretching, exploring, feeling. Some mornings are emotionally intense, some are pretty blah. ... It always is what it needs to be. This isn’t dance for an audience. It’s not about how it looks. This is about the dance I welcome my body to lead me in. It is about the movement to feel, to express....to allow. To undo the shoulds. Undo the ease of numbness. And somehow, along the way, I created a structure for this movement flow.....to connect, gently awake and stretch, move freely, and offered this to women. To be in circle with each other. While we move our own unique bodies, to our own unique rhythm. It’s an inwards journey.....we don’t watch others, we immense in our own experience. Our own sensations, our own pulse. If this is something you’d like to try out, there are spaces for the next 2 Monday evenings. In my home temple in Richardson. DM for more information! What is within you that would like to express in its bloom?

02.01.2022 Do you have times in your life when you got a clear message from your body? I have been contemplating this - our body's wisdom. Her messages. The times I ignored them, the times I listened.... And I have come to a place of deep gratitude for this - my body. Her voice. Her expression. Her tightness when something is not ok, Her expansion when something feels amazing. So today I share from a place of GRATITUDE to FEEL. "Your body is your soul’s address in this lifetime. It’s where You live. From the moment you are born in a physical form to the moment you die, your body is what makes the human experience possible. When we reconnect with this truth, we can remember to see the body as a temple, a threshold to the sacred, and an embodiment of the love from which we are created." ~Rochelle Schieck
