24.01.2022 Heat or Ice? Always go ice. There are many ways to ice. 15 mins on and 45 off is easy to remember. Repeat every hour. https://livingchiropractic.com.au/heat-and-ice-therapy/ For a different style of ice therapy.... After a Chiropractic adjustment, people can sometimes feel uncomfortable or pain in certain areas and ignoring this issue may lead to prolonged discomfort. Heat and ice therapy helps to promote the healing process. Ice is useful to help decrease inflammation and swelling, and applying heat helps to improve flexibility. By extension, alternating between ice and heat improves circulation to the affected area.

21.01.2022 OPEN DAY 2020 -It is that time of year again for Living Chiropractic’s Annual Open Day with a twist. SATURDAY 14TH NOVEMBER 3PM-4.30PM This year we are doing a trivia fundraiser on Zoom. This has been donated to us by Quizzame Australia.... This will be our 21st Open Day and once again we are excited to partner with Edithvale PS and fundraise for Guillain-Barré Syndrome Australia. Tickets are only $15 per family and we will be able to donate 100% of the proceeds. We are donating the prizes. What is Guillain-Barré Syndrome? It is where a healthy individual can react to a simple cold or flu and end up locked in their body unable to move, blink or breath. They need life support but over time can make a full recovery. Money is needed for the foundation to help families during this time for support with equipment etc. Our clinic has been personally affected by Guillain-Barré Syndrome in one of our staff and we have seen the devastating effects it can have on the family. Have you brought your ticket yet? There is still time. Click here to purchase yours...https://www.stickytickets.com.au//living_chiropractic_open

17.01.2022 What did 2020 teach us? That we are resilient, resourceful and adaptable. Boxer Mike Tyson said " Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth" and many would agree that this could describe 2020. As we make plans for the new year.... remember we can survive just about anything and of course we will succeed....

16.01.2022 "When dermatologists in Australia had their own vitamin D levels checked, 87% of them were deficient."(Holick) Now is the time to get out into the sun and build up our vitamin D. Vitamin D reduces the risk of getting the common cold. It also enhances cellular immunity, modulates adaptive immunity, and enhances expression of antioxidation-related genes.... Mild vitamin D deficiency has been noted in 43 per cent of the female population and moderately severe vitamin D deficiency in 11 per cent of the female population during winter in the Victorian city of Geelong. Recent research indicated that a significant number of Australian have a least marginal Vitamin D deficiency, with two studies showing rates of 43 per cent in young women and 23 per cent in the general adult population. Vitamin D is the single secret ingredient that could apply to the prevention and treatment in many cases of heart disease, common cancers, stroke, dementia, depression, insomnia, muscle weakness, joint pain, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, psoriasis, multiple sclerosis and hypertension. If you live below Sydney.... now is the time for us to get our Vitamin D store for winter. For more information https://livingchiropractic.com.au/vitamin-d/#

07.01.2022 Eric Katz - Lester Cox Specialist. WHAT IS THE LESTER COX TECHNIQUE? The technique has been developed over the last 40 years. Lester developed the unique technique based on observation, intuition and feeling where the tissue is out of alignment using various techniques to ensure the dysfunctional side of the body has the same soft tissue positioning as the healthy side.... It is a soft tissue therapy to treat almost the whole body and it relieves conditions including: neck, shoulder, elbows, hands, back. hip, hamstring, knees, calves, ankles and feet. The technique is used to manipulate ligaments, tendons, cartilage and muscles to restore proper body mechanics and make the body function correctly. It involves physically repositioning soft tissue into their correct positions, leading to effective pain relief and to alleviate the existing condition. We were a rare clinic... having only female staff and practitioners. Eric may be the beginning of more gender equality in our clinic...blazing a path for the future.

05.01.2022 Marianne Williamson teaches when peace comes first -- when you learn to love yourself on the way to whatever goals you want to achieve -- then a lot of the unfixable "bugs" tend to work themselves out on their own.

03.01.2022 We really learnt how much we love connection with others during the Lockdown in Melbourne. Oxytocin is a powerful hormone and neurotransmitterhormones travel through the blood and neurotransmitters carry messages through the brain and nervous system. It’s associated with care, connection and empathy. It’s released during social interactions that involve touch and eye contact. Nicknamed the ‘cuddle hormone’, oxytocin is essential for building relationships and bonding due t...o its anti-anxiety effect which helps to increase attachment and empathy. The release of oxytocin improves wellbeing and reduces stress, over time, contributing to improved health and longevity. Cuddles are powerful.

03.01.2022 Please be advised that the Edithvale Road level crossing is closed to vehicles today until Saturday 7th November.

03.01.2022 Chiropractic adjustments optimise your neurology and help balance your structure. With a strong and balanced support to your frame, your entire body moves better and maintains alignment longer. Chiropractic adjustments align the spine, improve range of motion, posture and change your neurology to allow smoother communication between the brain and the entire body. Roger Sperry, a Nobel Prize winder on brain research, found that 90% of the stimulation and nutrition to the brain is generated by movement of the spine.

03.01.2022 As another year is about to end many don’t want to add 2020 to their age. But there are things that we can do to reverse the clock. We turn our computer off when it is glitching, but what about when we are having a bad day? Maybe you keep stubbing your toe, or you knock your elbow on the door frame. Maybe you just cannot hit that golf ball like you know you usually can. Your brain should know exactly where your big toe is, and your elbow and it should be giving you messages that prevent you stubbing your toe or knocking your elbow. Adjusting the spine seems to correct the in-house communication and the clumsiness goes away. (Dr Heidi Haavik) Adjustments are really powerful to reset your nervous system and get it switched on. But many people ask us what they can do at home to help. Check out our newsletter for some idea's,
