03.01.2022 BREAKING NEWS - RULE CHANGES TO LIMIT NEW SOLAR CUSTOMERS GRID EXPORT!!!! It was announced recently by SA Power Networks, that a decision to reduce the automatic approval and half the auto approved maximum export of 3-phase solar systems from 30KW to 15KW. Currently a 3 phase 30 kW system application is automatically approved generally without the need to limit the solar export. This decision will see that threshold reduced to 15kW with all systems over that size requiring a... device to be installed to satisfy SA Power Networks new requirements. This change was stipulated by SAPN in an official release to come into effect in May. Although there is no concrete date set yet, the end of May is fast approaching and we do know that these changes do not apply to systems approved before the effective date. So, our advice to customers who are currently considering installing a solar systems between 15kW 30kW on 3 phase, is to lodge their applications prior to this date and avoid extra costs and the potential reduction in returns from export limiting. To get your approval done, contact us immediately with a copy of a recent electricity account, and we can lodge an application and get approval on your behalf before the changes come into effect.
