17.01.2022 Living Faith Cambodia Wells Project has an opportunity to put a well in Krolanh which is found in Kampong Tro Lach district, Posat province, Eastern Cambodia. The village currently has around 350 familys with an average of 5 members in each family (roughly 1750 people) These people currently do not have access to clean water and earn very little money. They survive by working on the farms owned by Chinese farmers and earn from 4usd to 6usd a day. We hope to be able to raise $2060 in the next 8 weeks so that while our team is in Cambodia they can drill a well and put in a pump while they are there. If you would like to help us reach this target you can do an EFT transfer into bsb 016494 account 251211195 using the reference "Wells Cambodia". Thanking you all for helping young cambodians have a chance at becoming old cambodians.

08.01.2022 Just received this information from Katie over at ACC International Living Faith Living Wells Cambodia Water Project Information... Implementing Organisation: Children in Families (CIF) There are tens of thousands of children in Cambodia living in orphanages. Almost 80% of these children are not orphans but are placed into institutions for reasons of poverty. With little resource being directed to preserve vulnerable families, desperate parents often have no choice but to put their children in an orphanage in order to ensure that they receive adequate food, clothing and an education. CIF works with families at risk of separation to provide solutions to the poverty that they face so that they can remain together. CIF also works with kinship and foster care families to provide care for children who cannot remain with their family of origin. CIF works with these families to ensure that they have the resources needed to properly care for a child. Village: Kampong Chnang Community A village has been selected due to their desperate need for a well. In this particular area, CIF are working with several kinship care families and a few churches to provide services to families in the area. The area has a very low socio-economic level and is somewhat isolated because it is on a peninsula of the Mekong and Tonle Sap. CIF find the families in this region to be among the poorest in all of their programs. One of the issues they constantly deal with is a lack of water. Access to clean water via a well in this village would provide much needed support. Cost: AUD $4150 This well is more expensive than other wells as it is located in an area that is notoriously difficult to find water as the water table is much deeper. The cost includes a guarantee from the contractor to find water or receive the money back. The cost also includes all staff travel and ongoing maintenance costs for 4 years. Item Price Well drilling service by mechanism $1350 The well pump $300 Concreting around the well $300 Maintenance service 4 years $500 Transportation and allowance for staff to manage this well project at Province $250 Administration $235 Total: USD$2935 (Converted AUD$4150) We have some finances left so may have enough to cover this ....TBA

05.01.2022 Big shout out to the mission team that jumped straight in and helped supply manpower without question yesterday. Really impressed by the efforts of you guys.that gave me warm fuzzies all day seeing you guys put in the effort.
04.01.2022 Hi Ray, Well, that took entirely too long, and it was much harder than we anticipated. Thanks for your continual patience! It turns out, we were finally able to find a local company to do the well. The contractor suggested we try 2 smaller wells rather than one big well to ensure we reach the most amount of people. So thats what we did! ... Altogether the wells will help to provide water for over 70 individuals from 12 separate families on a regular basis. In addition, depending on the conditions of the water table, the well will also provide agricultural support for these families as they pursue vegetable growing and other self-sustainability projects. Thank you to you and your team and blessings! Jesse Blaine general manager www.childreninfamilies.org

03.01.2022 The Prapeang Kok village will be the next site of a well for the Living Wells Project. The well will benefit 14 households with 70 people. Although Prapeang Kok being rather small does not appeared on a map of Cambodia, it is located in between OU SVAY and PREY CHAKREY villages. People living in this area face many challenges. The harvest of rice and crops are currently very low. It has an increasing demand for finances to support their agricultural output. All families fal...ling into debt with the local moneylenders and other micro finance institutions because of rising costs. Approximately 20% of children have dropped out of school before completing grade 5 due to having to do field work with their parents. Due to the dire conditions in the area some school teachers are spending their times on field works to help the community. Please like and share!
02.01.2022 Hi Ray, We are going ahead with the project! Just a quick update, we found another contractor, a Christian one. They would like to sign the contract within 2 weeks and said they could complete the well within 3 days of signing. Time can be a fluid thing in Cambodia, but well let you know as soon as we sign the contract.... Thanks, Jesse Jesse Blaine general manager www.childreninfamilies.org This project has taken a while to get oing but I am looking forward to seeing the results. Ray
