09.01.2022 Fruity Ice Treats Strawberry and Kiwi Fruity Ice Treats - Strawberry and Kiwi Ingredients 1 punnet strawberries, hulled and chopped... 2 kiwi fruit, peeled and chopped 1 1/2 cups orange juice 6 disposable plastic cups 6 pop sticks Method Drop strawberries and kiwi fruit into each disposable cup. Pour orange juice over fruit, add a pop stick to each cup and freeze until set. Run under hot water to remove from the cup. Makes 6 cups.

We are Amanda (Pinky) and Tanya (Farmer) and together we are known as Pinkfarm. It is with great pleasure that we have been invited by Pete to introduce ourselves. Like most people who share their story with Pete, we believe in the power of food and its ability to heal. Our journeys with food in fact have lead us to a huge milestone this week and that is the launching of our website. Pinkfarm-your real food culture. This is a milestone that has emerged from us sharing our passion for food and its power to heal on a facebook page that began more than18 months ago. We are 2 friends. 2 Mums on a real food journey; learning, sharing, creating, inspiring and challenging politically correct nutrition. A country girl living on a farm on the beautiful Atherton Tablelands with a bustling house of 5 children and a city girl living in a metro Sydney townhouse with 1 beautiful son. With playground names like Pinky and Farmer we were destined to lead two contrasting lives, and that we do! However, in the past 5 years, our life journeys intertwined more than ever, as Pinky embarked on the journey of motherhood for the first time and Farmer gave birth to her 5th child. Together we have shared knowledge and inspired each other on an amazing journey, exploring and researching health topics on a deeper level. Reclaiming connections with our food and the earth that provides for us is critical. We CANNOT be blinded by the word NORMAL any longer. We must take power and control back into our own hands, accepting responsibility for our own health and the health of our children and future generations. Together we can make a difference. It is predicted that the children of today will die before their parents. Why? We are in the midst of a major epidemic of chronic disease that is plaguing our children, and threatening the health and reproduction of our species. How many of you know someone who has been affected by Cancer? Heart disease? Diabetes? Depression? Obesity? Learning or behavioural disorders? Eczema? Asthma? Auto-immune diseases.arthritis, multiple sclerosis, chrohns disease? The list goes on. The reality is grim. The dawning light is the realization that FOOD is FUEL. What we eat and feed out children matters. It matters a lot. But what does it take? What will it take? For us it was the health challenges faced by family members and just over three years ago our lives were simultaneously challenged by the appearance of mysterious skin and respiratory issues in our children which led us to the discovery of gut health on a microbial level and the massive influence this has on our health. After numerous visits to various medical practitioners regarding the multitude of skin rashes we walked away each time disheartened by the lack of answers and the attempts to falsely reassure us that this was a normal part of childhood! Not for us. There was no way we were going to accept this warped sense of normality. Our journey on Pinkfarm, sharing the knowledge we have gained through self-education and applying it in real life and our parallel journeys as two friends is what has brought us to where we are today. Gut Health is the key to our health and the health of our children and future generations. Understanding the importance of Gut Health is the switch that brings light to the subject of many health problems. With this knowledge, we have focused on incorporating traditional foods, cultured foods and healthy fats into our daily lives and we inspire each other to walk the talk. We prioritise eating breakfast like a King and eliminating processed foods from our lives. We have achieved better living without refined sugar everyday! I love yoga but living out in the sticks its hard to go to classes so it will be great to be able to play online yoga at home when I want to so thank you yogidunx. I too have come to the belief that the chase of material success in life is not necessary for a successful life. I have lost both my parents in their 60s and a sister in her 20s, so have come to the realisation that we leave this world with only what we came into it with; our spirit. After all the body is only the vessel that we travel our worldly journey in, but it is important to care for that body in order to journey to old age. After watching my father succumb to bladder cancer and then myself being diagnosed with HelioPylori bacteria I was determined that my children would never see me succumb to such an awful disease, so began the road to my recovery, I am not there yet but after 50 years of abuse of my body I dont expect it to be an overnight cure, it will be a long road less travelled. I have radically altered my diet to LCHF with Christine Croneau then started following Peter Evans then got in touch with the lovely Anthea from Ovvio to guide my food is my medicine journey. With all this guidance I am healing from within and now with Duncans help I can work on healing my mind. Everywhere I see people eating refined foods and it breaks my heart that they may end up like I was at 50, eating sugars, refined processed foods, drinking far too much alcohol. I realise that I cant change people that is outside of my control, but I share my story wherever and whenever I can in the hope that it may just change one persons life. I believe that my success, my reward will be in the form of a healthy body and a long life. I agree with Duncan that we need to look for meaning in our life within ourselves and not within possessions because those possessions cant help our sick and diseased bodies. Yes the mind is our very powerful tool and we can train our mind to resist negative thoughts, old beliefs, ( like the low fat theory) temptations, cravings etc. Thank you Peter for introducing me to Duncan and thank you Duncan for your wise words. Kat Moritz wrote.... For the past ten years I have struggled with mental health problems. During that time, Ive had every label under the sun thrown at me: Bipolar II, Depression, Borderline Personality Disorder, Anxiety - the list goes on. After three hospitalisations last year, two courses of ECT and trying many different medications (antidepressants, antipsychotics, lithium, valium - again the list goes on), I decided to start doing my own research and trust my gut. My husband has always been adamant that, medically, theres nothing wrong with me but that, rather, Im just an extremely sensitive person. So, I made lifestyle changes. I cut sugar out of my diet. I stopped eating processed foods. I started exercising. I started seeing an incredible Chinese Medicine doctor and getting regular acupuncture. Needless to say, within twelve months, I was medication free. Fast forward a year and, after going paleo and dropping over 20kgs that I had gained from medication and lack of motivation, I now feel as though Im on the second part of my journey - the spiritual path - and this is where Duncans words ring so true. Reading them, I felt as though he was speaking to me directly and exactly where Im at now. Im slowly realising how very strong the connection between body and mind are and how one cannot possible be well if the other is not. Im slowly coming to the realisation that what was going on for me was very much a disease of the mind of the ego, whose brutal reign Ive been under. The words that rang most true, however, were these: my goal is to wake people up to the limiting beliefs they hold about themselves that are not true, just old decisions that have gone unexamined but now need to be uprooted for personal growth. We are our own worst critics and love to berate ourselves and cling to past experiences and demons which end up manifesting - sometimes years later - in the strangest of ways - in depression, anxiety, eating disorders. It is not until we can let go of these beliefs, examine them like Duncan says, and begin to care for our mental nutrition that things begin to change.
