We are reintroducing lash lifts onto our menu for you, there is the option to bring you a brand new treatment - most of you won’t have heard of Semi-Permanent Mascara, but we can tell you, it IS a thing! Who would be interested in a treatment like this? 02.01.2022 All lash clients should be equipped with the knowledge to look after their eyelash extensions, if however they have not been properly educated on how to look after or have failed to be diligent with their care then they could be at risk of:- BLEPHARITIS (see pic) Blepharitis is an eye irritation/infection that is cause by the micro mites that live along the lash line (the Demodex mite) harmless if you have great hygeine. When lash techs retail you a lash shampoo, it is out... of your best interest. Blepharitis is caused by not cleaning your eye area or lashes regularly enough, most commonly people who have lash extensions tend to be more at risk of getting blepharitis as it is harder to reach the lashline to get a deep cleanse, alternatively clients can have the misconception that if they get their lashes wet they will fall out faster! The importance of cleansing your lashes cannot be stressed enough. You will naturally get a build up of natural oils, sweat, dirt, makeup, skin cells... The Demodex mite thrive in this environment and eat the bacteria around the follicle causing the natural lash to become loose and weak in that follicle (sending shockwaves waves/trauma to the nerve endings, yes your lashes have nerve endings!) which in turn causes the natural lash to fall out prematurally. This CAN cause permanent hair loss, if the trauma has caused the nerve ending to ‘scar’ it may not grow back! You need to be using an antibacterial lash shampoo every day if you wear makeup or every 2-3days if you dont wear ANY makeup. This ensures your lash extensions are nice and clean but most importantly the health of your eyes are not at risk. If you get Blepharitis you can no longer have lash extensions untill it has been fully treated. So please listen to us when we tell you that you need that shampoo!
