25.01.2022 Coonabarabran off grid . We just spent an interesting week on an off grid system about 40 mins south/east of Coonabarabran . Very remote location , with no communications and a 30 km dirt road into the property . The system was 11 kWs of solar , 2200 amp/hours capacity battery at 48 volts . This system is ideal to run a few air-conditioning units for the summer and several bar heaters in the winter . The old mate owner, John , is a tractor and crane collector and so we had a ...tour around his property . More than 60 old tractors and several old articulated cranes . The battery room and inverter room was an old Pantech refrigerated truck body , which sounds a little odd but will work very well keeping the batteries cool in the summer. It was a busy week with long days , big effort by Justin M and Paulie Martin . We go to some very interesting and memorable places. Hope you enjoy the photos . See more

25.01.2022 Off Grid Rescue . During the week we rescued an old off grid system and brought it back to life . The DC charge controller had been damaged by a local area lightning strike about 18 months ago and this had caused the batteries to begin to deteriorate to the point of failure about 4 months ago.By examining the data stored in the inverter we were able to prove the date of the lightning strike which correlated with BOM storm records, this allowed the customer to make a legitimate insurance claim . We converted the system from DC coupled , which seem to be more susceptible to inductive electromagnetic waves caused by lightning , to an AC coupled system which is a little more robust. We stayed in an AirBNB at St Albans and spent a few pleasant days in The Hidden Valley region . Before and after photos attached.

25.01.2022 Uganda project 2018 . Over the last two years we have planned a project in Uganda to help irrigate a farm in South Western Uganda and provide power to a refugee/mission support outpost on the Uganda/ Tanzania border. The farm provides local employment via food sales , and also supplies food to a local orphanage . The crate contains three complete solar water pumping kits with many spare parts , a complete irrigation system to provide sprinklers to a hectare of land driven ...by a petrol pump . The crate also contains a complete off grid electrical system with batteries to allow for power at the refugee/mission outpost and the crate is packed with farm equipment and hardware. The crate finally left this week from our warehouse at Smeaton Grange on its long journey to Uganda . Thanks to Sandra from our office for her persistence in the complicated transport issues to finally get the crate moving . 23.01.2022 60 kVA Backup Diesel Generator design/installation for a large farm estate in Mittagong NSW . The system is completely automatic and designed to provide power to essential services such as water pumps , light and power in the event of a local electrical power outage.

22.01.2022 We just commissioned 18 kW solar project that is designed to offset the air-conditioning and pool heating loads at a luxury property in Kenthurst NSW. The system also provides a backup battery supply to essential services,such as power,lights,Cbus and communications , in the event on a local power outage.

21.01.2022 Hunter Valley Off Grid Project . We have competed a few projects in the Hunter valley Wine Region over the last few years . Here is a typical system rated at 6 kWhs per day for a very comfortable weekender built on the summit of a hill over looking the valley .

21.01.2022 We love working in the bush . Because we specialise in remote area power our work takes us to some amazing places around NSW and Victoria . Here are some photos of a beautiful remote property we worked at a few months ago in the mountains above Eden NSW.The property belongs to Bruce and Jules , and we lived on site for a few days while we completed the project .

20.01.2022 Living Power provides commercial PV maintenance including inverter repairs/replacement ,mega testing all DC and AC cables, up grading to current AU standards etc. Ben and Masimba out on a maintenance job last Friday.

20.01.2022 Today we completed and commissioned a replacement off grid system . The system was damaged during the December fires .

19.01.2022 Three phase power is possible off grid . This site has no access to local poles and wires . This system supports a very large home in Springwood NSW . The home has three phase ducted air conditioning , several pumps ,sewage treatment and all the mod cons you would expect in a modern home. This temporary installation is installed in an air-conditioned room within a container and will will be relocated into the new farm shed within a year or so .

18.01.2022 We are beginning the electrical infrastructure for an autonomous mini grid project at Mittagong NSW . At completion the project will provide power across a broad electrical private grid system . The private grid is powered by a 100 kW solar array , 100 kW pumped hydro system and approximately 500 kWh of usable battery storage . All designed and implemented by the Living Power team.

18.01.2022 Currently installing a large battery kit for an off grid project near Kiama NSW. This system will be a 120 volt at 3000 amp/hour . The battery kit weighs nearly 12 tonne . A 60 kW solar array will be installed over the next several months as the site grows .

18.01.2022 Last off grid project for the year . 15 kWh per day system with 8 kW solar array . Installed at in Southern Highlands NSW for a new house build . The batteries and inverter equipment is installed installed an insulated and air-conditioned shipping container.

18.01.2022 Busy day finishing an 8 kW solar array grid connected via a Fronius Symo Hybrid inverter coupled with a 10 kWh LG battery pack . This battery arrangement is designed as self consumption meaning that the battery fills up each day and then drains down each night . The beauty of this Fronius system is that the battery energy is distributed back into the AC bus across three phase .

16.01.2022 Last night we installed a Surge Protection Device into a large switchboard on a commercial/residential complex at Manly. The project was several months in the planning and was completed between 10pm and 7am overnight . The new device allows for the 800amp switchboard to now have an backup diesel generator providing essential services to the site in the event of a local power failure . The project was completed with clock work precision . Well done Ben , Masimba , Andrew and Paul . Good team effort .

16.01.2022 Now THAT is a battery room . 360 kWh of battery storage . Kiama project , battery room is now commissioned.

14.01.2022 We just commission a 16 kW solar array with 10 kW directly grid connected into the house AC bus across three phase and 6 kW PV solar supporting an LG Chem battery backup system . The battery backup supplies power/lights and water pumps in the event of a local power failure .

13.01.2022 Fire Damage to off grid electrical systems . Some families have suffered much loss over the last weeks and many off grid electrical systems have been damaged .We have attended a few sites that have experienced damage and we have provided temporary repairs to systems and provided temporary electrical generators to get customers on line. We have also written technical reports to insurance companies for assessments to repair or replace off grid electrical systems . Some of our team have returned back early from holidays to assist our customers. 13.01.2022 Southern Highlands Off Grid system . We completed this project just before Christmas . The home is 2 kms from the main road and so connecting to the local grid was cost prohibitive . The ideal solution is a RAPS ( remote area power system) .The battery room is behind the farm utility shed . This system will provide power to a very large future homestead . We get to work in some beautiful parts of Australia .

12.01.2022 Completed an off grid project today in Megalong Valley. 10 kW ground mount array with 7.5kW output capacity . LiFe batteries supplied by PowerPlus. Stayed in Blackheath for a few days while we completed the project . Had a fabulous meal at The Blackheath Bistro and Bar .

12.01.2022 THREE PHASE OFF GRID - Mittagong NSW . Over the last few weeks the Living Power team have worked on a very unique off grid project . The farm has a combination of grid supply and an off grid power supply distributed across a three-phase electrical bus system . We have installed all the electrical infrastructure into a 40 foot container , which is temperature controlled . The battery system has total storage of 500 kWh , supported by a 30 kW solar array . The solar array is ab...out to expand out to 100 kW to support more off grid load and to support the grid connected load components at the site. The system is designed with several redundancy features, this allows the farm to operate under any emergency situation such as local grid failure , off grid inverter failures or battery maintenance . The site has very high energy consumption (up to 250 kWh per day)for items such as bore pumps , cool rooms , air conditioning, living quarters , egg packaging facility etc , but this unique combination of grid supply and off grid electrical infrastructure keeps the operational expenses to a minimum. 10.01.2022 Project Home off the grid . This Masterton Project Home was built 35 kms north/west of Marulan NSW. The home is in a very beautiful location however it is more than 1 km from the local grid . The cost to connect to the local grid was impossibly expensive . Living Power designed and built a compact off grid system that was installed in the garage and is suppling all the household electrical needs.

08.01.2022 Off Grid Rescue . Today we completed a replacement off grid system . The original system was damaged in the December 2019 fires . The existing system was a DC coupled system installed about 12 years ago . Off grid systems and installation practices have come a long way in the last decade and as such I thought it might be intesting to see a before and after sequence . Thanks to my senior technician Justin Millican, skilled labour Paulie Martin and UNSW undergrad Caroline Edwards , job well done team . See before and after pictures .

07.01.2022 6 kWh per day off grid system installed at Canowindra . The batteries will have a vented enclosure built around them to ally compliance with AU standards. 4 kW solar array AC coupled with a 4 kW ABB and 4.5 kW Selectronic Inverter.

07.01.2022 Today Paul and I Installed a 17 kVA generator for an off-grid project at Picton NSW . The ground was very muddy so we used the landscapers old 7 tonne excavator to place the machine in position. The backup generator is connected to the 7.5 kW Selectronic inverter and programmed to provide additional charging to the battery kit during extended periods of rain or fog.

06.01.2022 70 kWp solar project . Last week we completed a 70 kWp project at a school in the Southern Highlands . the project was completed using Fronius Inverters and 285 watt Winaico solar modules.

04.01.2022 This is a typical home battery kit made by Fronius. This is one of several we have installed in the MacArthur Area recently. This system is unique because it will distribute power across all three phases in the home.

04.01.2022 Araluen project completed and commissioned yesterday . Araluen is a beautiful part of Australia and we highly recommend a weekend holiday into Braidwood and the Araluen valley . There are many fabulous pubs and restaurants/cafes in Braidwood , we enjoyed a great coffee at the Three Mills cafe on the way out of town. The Araluen Hotel is an authentic Aussie pub experience and Norm the publican and his son Tom are very welcoming. The food at the hotel was very hearty and Norm cooked a hot breakfast served to us by the fire each morning. Thanks Braidwood/Araluen for the experience . Phillip

04.01.2022 Off grid project at Araluen NSW . Currently we are building a 10 kWh per day system on a beautiful property . Its always good to work in the bush . This system will replace an older system that was installed 20 years ago and is failing very quickly . The system consists of a 43 kWh battery kit , a 4.6 kW solar array , 4.5 kW SP Pro inverter and a 5 kW Fronius Symo inverter. We are staying at the Araluen pub and being well looked after by Norm the publican .

03.01.2022 This 15 kWh per day off grid system was installed in a purpose built plant room at the rear of a large home in Colo Vale NSW. The 8 kW solar array is controlled by two Kaco 4 kW MPPT inverters. The 48-volt Selectronic inverter is rated at 7.5kW output . This system has supplied trouble electricity to a family of five people for several years.

03.01.2022 Three phase off grid system Southern Highlands NSW . This system is designed to run an organic chicken farm.

02.01.2022 Off Grid - Murrumbidgee River - NSW . The team spent a few days on the Murrumbidgee River last week installing a 5 kWh per day off grid system . We go to some very well set up farms , with very dedicated farmers who take great care if their land and stock . This farm was no exception . It is a privilege for us to work for the grass roots Australian farming community .

02.01.2022 We work in some very remote but beautiful places . Finished an off grid system in the Brindabella Ranges outside Canberra today . Very chilly weather but bright sunny days . The new home is a well designed passive solar construction a long drive off the main road , and adjacent to the Brindabella National Park .

01.01.2022 Three phase off grid system. Last week we completed a Three Phase Power ( 415/240 volts) off grid project for a large home at Springwood with no access to local power . The home have ducted air-conditioning , several water pumps , sewage treatment , power/lights hike theatre etc. The home is now powered up completely off solar/batteries .

01.01.2022 Remote Area Power in the Brindabella Ranges outside Canberra . This off grid system was designed and installed for a large bespoke home . The local area grid is several kms away and as such connecting to the local electrical supply was not an option. Living Power are off grid specialist company working throughout NSW , VIC and QLD .
