18.01.2022 Mental Health is so important and post covid many will be struggling. We need extra funding to support people as they recover which the government is doing but what about after that. West Australian Association of Mental Health (WAAMH) is working on a Campaign to urge the government to put the extra funds into mental health that they have in the plan, and to put it towards funding more community mental health. Please join the campaign, share with your friends and if you have lived experience consider sharing your story of recovery to support the campaign. I have been challenged with a mental health diagnosis and recovery and am involved in this campaign as part of my Cert 4 Mental Health Peer Work course, I would love to see you involved.

15.01.2022 I believe all of these things are true. I believe grace and rest are key. Feeling and owning our own shit instead of working it out on others is key. When we sl...ip up, apologizing to the people we offload on is key. And, when we hit that wall, sometimes courage looks like scaling it or breaking through it. AND, sometimes courage is building a fort against the wall and taking a nap. For those of us with kids, I don't think we pretend that the wall doesn't exist. Rather than sucking it up and pushing through, we name it. We help them understand that invisible wall that they will run into hundreds and hundreds of times in their lives. We model what it takes to recognize it and how tough it can be to choose the right strategy: scaling, reaching out for a lift, and/or resting. Naming, modeling, and not having answers is how we help them feel less alone or scared when they face their own wall. Hard days are real because this is hard. 10.01.2022 When I was given a diagnosis I felt like a failure, I was devastated and went through an intense grieving process. Fortunately, I found a fantastic psychologist who supported me through this time. And I had some really good friends who stood by and encouraged me to keep moving forward. Please know you are not a failure and recovery is possible, and recovery doesnt mean that your diagnosis goes away but it does mean you can lead a rich and meaningful life. ... I am available Mondays for private sessions, for stress management, meditation training, Pranic Healing and mBIT Coaching. The session starts with a chat to see what youre needing support with and then we choose the pathway forward from there. I am currently working from Gosnells.
