18.01.2022 A very common question from parents - does tongue tie affect speech? The answer is rarely! Research shows that tongue tie rarely affects speech development and people with tongue ties can often make all speech sounds. Tongue tie surgery is rarely needed to help improve speech sounds but may be necessary if the child is having difficulties with feeding/eating.
