23.01.2022 Today Daves work mate Andy took us out in his boat. The weather was perfect and we got our first coral trout! We checked out Sams Island and saw turtles, shark, whales and had a swim in the shallows. The boys were in their element. Certainly a day they will talk about for a long time. Thanks a million Andy!!

23.01.2022 So I logged into our Polar Steps the other day and I got a shock when I saw we had been travelling for 300 days!! 300! WOW that has gone sooo fast. Lets face it I had doubts whether I would last 30 days let alone 300. But its been the best decision we have ever made and I know now we could easily do 300 more. Looking at the map we have seen so much, more than most people see in a lifetime. We feel very privileged every day to do this adventure as a family. We cant w...ait to explore the rest of Oz and fill those gaps. Next on our list is: Shark Bay and Monkey Mia Coral Bay and Exmouth Karijini and the Pilbara ( finally get to see where Dad works) and catching up with a friend from over East. Broome Gibb River Rd and some of the Kimberly that is still open. Hit us up with your best places to stay and explore! Stay safe everyone!

22.01.2022 Kalbarri -Z Bend River Trail. The more challenging walk of the 3, but the boys fav! 2.6 km return lots of rock hopping and ladder climbs. The effort was worth it. No surprises that only Tyrone and I ended up with dry feet at the end boys hey!

18.01.2022 Denham and Shark Bay. We have spend 4 nights in this spectacular part of WA, and we have loved every minute of it. Day tripped the 40 or so kms into Francois Perin National to Cape Peron. Soft red sand the whole way made for a fun 4WD adventure! We walked the trail to Skip Jack Point where we spotted dolphins, manta ray, and sharks and a cute Thorny Devil. Spent the arvo at Bottle Bay pulling in a tonne of fish and I was nearly shark lunch putting the boat in! Dont th...ink Ive jumped in the boat so bloody fast!! Morning spent at Shell Beach. Another bucket list item kicked off. 2 days at Monkey Mia feeding and watching the dolphins swim up and down all day. Cocktails and sunsets, SUPing and relaxing. See more

18.01.2022 Kalbarri Skywalk ( kaju yatka) We were very lucky to see the new Skywalk opened just a few weeks ago. Located in the National Park it offers breathtaking views of the Murchison River ... 100m above the Gorge. I must say I chickened out on the Pinnacle Lookout a few months ago but today I conquered my fear! The new Lookout blends beautifully into the natural landscape and is accessible to all. See more

18.01.2022 Lucky Bay 4wd Campground Eat, SUP, fish, sleep, repeat! We spent 3 fantastic days at Lucky Bay (35km) from Kalbarri. 15.01.2022 They say A picture is worth a thousand words..... Today was an exciting day for the boys. One they have talked about for years. The day they finally got to see Dads work. It felt very surreal after 13 years of FIFO to be standing in Karratha 3300 km from our home town. The boys were thrilled to check out Dads room and all their paintings and photos. I think Lewis face says it all.

15.01.2022 Ningaloo!!! What a bloody ripper

13.01.2022 Sandy Cape We stayed 2 nights at Sandy Cape where it decided to pour rain for 2 days Unfortunately due to this we missed the Seals but we did get out to a 4 WD track and check out Stockgully Caves. A 300 metre underground tunnel that was pitch black so dont forget your torches!

10.01.2022 Staircase to the Moon- Hearsons Cove.

09.01.2022 Where the red cliffs meets the Turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. It is here that you can view the 130 million year old dinosaur prints at low tide. Did u know?? Broome boasts one of the most varied colle tions of dino prints in the world! Where most have 3, Broome has more than 9!

09.01.2022 Today we went on a little adventure to find some Indigenious Rock Art for the boys school prsentation. It was hotand if you didnt know what you were looking for, you wouldnt see anything. Luckily for us Dad gave us the hot tip on where to look. It was just off the road at 40 Mile turn off at his Gas Plant. The experience always makes us stop and think... how old is the Art? How did they survive the rugged, hot, tough terrain of the Pilbara? What did it look like all those thousands of years ago? So many questions.... Its an amazing and magical place this place that we call Australia.

08.01.2022 ONE YEAR on the road today and what an amazing year we have had! Despite the challenges, and there has been a few... we have had the best year of our lives. We cant wait to see what the next 12 months brings for us. Anybody thinking of doing a lap- our only advice is DO IT! You will not regret it.

07.01.2022 Kalbarri-Natures Window. There is so much to see and do in Kalbarri Ive had to seperate my posts! This work is an easy 800m with views directly over the river. If only the pics did it justice. Of course we had to get an obligatory cliff hanger pic!

07.01.2022 Goodbye for now.... Townsend Crew! Its been a blast!!

06.01.2022 Sadly we didnt get to swim with the whalesharks today... perfect weather but no sightings....thats life. We did see dugongs, heaps of whales, turtles, and swam with manta ray and lots of fish. We will leave this one on the bucket list and come back again next year.

03.01.2022 Lancelin In the boys opinion this was the best day eva! So much sand, boarding, spills, laughter, and most importantly memories.

02.01.2022 We had a great day at the park today. The 1.5 feeding session was filled with lots knowledge and facts about Salties, freshies, and American Gators. Well worth the visit at $90 for the family. Boys got to hold a baby croc and we also found out the 3.5m Salty they pulled out near the boat ramp last week has now been rehomed here at the Park.
