20.01.2022 City of Mandurah has posted what they are doing for Social Distancing at their Recreation centres reception counters "I was seeking some feedback/advice on how Centres were dealing with our customer interactions at your reception counters whilst maintaining social distancing. At the Mandurah Aquatic & Rec Centre we have installed sneeze screens at each of the workstations but have found customers tend to stand to the side of the guards, not to mention staff lean to the side ...of them to be able to hear the customers better. We have placed tables in front of the reception counter to help enforce distancing but this has had limited benefit. See photo below. The report, released today, includes both fatal and non-fa...tal drowning data to capture the full impact of drowning on the West Australian community. 16.01.2022 Five lifeguards from City of Melville LeisureFit Booragoon recently received Royal Life Saving Bravery Awards, after saving the life of a patron at the facility... early this year. The incident involved the wife of local Councillor Clive Robartson, who had suffered a cardiac arrest. Lifeguards Dylan Power, Alexandra Gamble, Liam Taylor, Harley Osborne and Shay-Lee Smith worked together to perform CPR while awaiting the arrival of paramedics. The report reveals a committed workforce with a high regard for the positive contribution it makes to peoples lives and the local community, and suggests innovative strategies, centred around training and mentoring programs, to enable workers keen to pursue a career in the industry to learn about and move between a range of roles.
