18.01.2022 The best dressed guys at the Melbourne Cup in Collie.
17.01.2022 Lunch at the pub yesterday. About 34 of us enjoyed the food and the natter. Good service by the staff too.
17.01.2022 Left Sue’s Bridge this morning heading home. Stopped at Harvey at the bakery for an early lunch and coffee. Lovely place and great pies and bread.
15.01.2022 Great news to wake up to today. We won!!! Woohoo. Pay up Clive.
12.01.2022 Terrific Melbourne Cup day at Collie. Lots of wonderful hat attire and drinks and food supplied by the great park owners. We’ll be back next year. Woohoo. I backed second and third at the TAB.

09.01.2022 A lovely sleeping night at Jarrahdene.... so peaceful. After a cooked brekkie we went walking through the old mill area and campground loops checking the sites. Still a lot of flowers out. (And the March flies). This is really a stunning campground. Nice to see the ranger early, doing a check on campers and the park cleaner doing the toilets and BBQ’s.
09.01.2022 Everyone rocked up today, so, 39 of us have now settled in to the park and at 4’s we all gathered to do Cup Sweeps with the park owners and our own sweep. Great night in the marquee.
06.01.2022 Another lot of our group arrived today and so our 4’s was quite large and another caravan group here for Melbourne Cup joined in. The last 13 arrive tomorrow. Then tonight 10 of us went to the Federal Hotel for dinner. Great food. Ps.....rained all last night and today. The farmers must be loving it.
05.01.2022 Today, after a lovely week at Collie with the Wheely Wanderers group we said farewell and headed off with Wayne and Cyndy, Bernice and John to our next stop for two nights....Jarrahdene campground in the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park. A DPAW campground ( Camps 10....276) which you book online. We stopped in Donnybrook for coffee and met Clare and Eric there. So, all up approx 190k from Collie to here. Arrived about 1230pm. Wow. First time here and it’s lovely. Camp kitc...hen with BBQ’s and drop toilets. Lovely sites for all styles of campers. Van sites here that we’re on is 3, Wayne on 6. Bernice on 12. All with fire pits and tables. And the good news..... fires permitted still between 6pm to 10 according to the entrance sign. A few pesky March flies who obviously don’t know it’s November, and Wayne says there are heaps of possums at night. We’ll soon find out. See more
02.01.2022 After two lovely nights at Jarrahdene we farewelled Cyndy and Wayne and headed 52k to Sue’s Bridge. Managed to get two van sites 2 and 4. Walked to the bridge along the river, enjoyed an arvo of cards and Johns fire after dinner. Nice spot other than the annoying midges during the day.
01.01.2022 Did a drive today to Ferguson Valley with Bruce and Joan. Did two winery’s and lunched at The Green Door. Great platters. Loved the captive Gnomes at the winery. A good place to visit.
