25.01.2022 Given the current Covid restrictions, our annual ‘Reverse Draw’ has unfortunately been put on hold this year. This is very disappointing, as the draw is our major fundraiser, providing the club with much needed income to put our teams on the field each week. However, we Lizards are a resilient bunch and won’t allow a pandemic to dampen our spirits - so we are launching our very first ‘Lizard Lotto!’ ‘Lizard Lotto’ will run over 5 weeks and will be held as a live draw on our ...club Facebook page each Thursday at 7:30pm, with the first draw scheduled for Thursday, 12th November. There will be 50 numbers in the draw and 1 number will be drawn each week, with the winner pocketing $250! The prize will remain $250 for the first 4 weeks and will then jackpot to $500 for the fifth and final week! Tickets are only $50 each, which gives you a spot in the draw for 5 weeks. That equates to just $10 per week and, for a 1 in 50 chance to win $250 each week, it’s great odds! To secure your favourite number, reply to this post with the number you want and then transfer the payment into the club account. You can either pay your $50 up front (preferred option) or pay $10 each week for 5 weeks. Your number will be confirmed in the draw each week once payment is received. All payments are to be made via bank transfer to the club account (details below), with your full name as a reference. If you have any additional questions, please send me a private message on Facebook Brett Macca. Get in quick to secure your favourite number and your chance to win some cash! As a club, we are only as strong as our members and supporters, so get behind this fundraiser and let’s kick of the season on the front foot! Good luck and ‘Go Lizards’! 23.01.2022 Round 1 - 17th October 2020 Hi all... Due to overnight rain and the condition of the majority of grounds, the SMCA adverse weather committee has made the difficult decision to abandon all matches in all grades in round 1. We understand the time and effort everyone has put in so far to get the season underway, but player safety is of paramount importance, hence the decision reached. These matches will now be played on Saturday February 20, 2021 as it was set aside for a reserve day. Please do not enter results into the round 1 match, as I will change the dates on mycricket and use this fixture for that match Good luck to all next weekend, hope the rain stays away. Yours in cricket Ross McMillan SMCA Secretary

13.01.2022 Good morning all Cricket is again off this weekend due to the continuing rain.... A large number of grounds have been insprected are considered unplayable at this stage, with rain continuing and forecast to continue through the morning. I will be sending through a proposal from Stratford CC for your discussion in relation to using the COVID weeks we set aside at the end of the season to replay washed out rounds and push finals back to end of March. This will be an item of business to be discussed at the next meeting. Consideration has also been given to the current COVID climate and players gathering together waiting to get on the field (if possible) during the day. We will try again next week for a match, fingers crossed. Ross McMillan SMCA Secretary

Train. Get out. Unfortunately not very social but we hope you understand. Coaches will run sessions but we will always have a COVID Officer present to help and respond to any queries. CV message is Cricket in a Pandemic is a privilege not a right, as such we take this seriously and will do our part to make it as safe as possible.
