21.01.2022 Too often I get continuous questions about what university courses I would recommend for high school students who are coming close to the end of their studies. Before I even actually answer, what needs to be established in the minds of young people is that you don't need to go to university after high school. In my own wise words, 'University is the biggest waste of your TIME and MONEY if you don't need the particular degree to do what you want or do what is going to make you... happy. Every single degree at university is hard, but if in the end you know you're going to a job that you will truely enjoy, you will put in the effort and the work to achieve high'. The idea that you can get the same or even better furtherance in knowledge by entering the workforce or alternative forms of adult education is what is missing from many school advisory and supporters of young people. Don't underestimate the power of on site education and the value of experience, over the power of a piece of paper and thousands of dollars of debt. Whatever you want to do, you can do it, and contrary to what you may have been told, university is not the only way to achieve that! #breakthescript See more
20.01.2022 Remember your first job, were you prepared? What do you wish you knew more about, what really sucked? I am seeking Expressions of Interest in running a one-day (9am-3pm) workshop called Unexplained, as an extension of my tutoring services in the April 2020. These workshops will focus on ‘adulting you’, giving you the knowledge and addressing the skill gap that exists for students and younger workers who are transitioning or entering into the workforce for the first time.... In the workshop you will learn: The process of applying for their first part time job How to write a resume and a covering letter How to present yourself positively to future employers How to confidently interact with those in the workplace, and Pay, entitlements and responsibilities Workshops will be held in Sylvania, fully catered, include all courseware and a 30-minute follow up remote/virtual session with a Mentor/Coach post course. Numbers for each session are limited, please PM for further details (0405 433 688).
19.01.2022 BACK TO SCHOOL TIME!!! This part of the year can be trying, especially for HSC students commencing their half yearly exams soon! This can also be a daunghting time for many students who find they fall behind easily. Unfortunately, Albert Einstein’s insight into the modern education system could not be more correct... Too much, teachers overtake students who have different types of learning styles, of which don’t match the way they teach! The secret to student understanding is teaching them in ways that students learn best. Here, however, lies the focus of what I offer students: an opportunity to improve their understanding and knowledge by tailoring sessions to each students individual methods of learning! Take the year by the horns everyone and good luck for this year to all students going back or starting school today!
06.01.2022 Good Luck to all 2019 HSC students in receiving your final exams and ATAR marks today! So much hard work will pay off today and exciting new journeys will be entered into! Go take over the world you amazing bunch! "RELEASE THE KRAKEN!" #theworldbetterwatchout
01.01.2022 Ask your parents, siblings, boss or anyone influential to you about how they got where they are. I can guarantee that their answer will be 'hard work'. Success doesn't come over night and after you finish school, your greatest goals from here on in will take 5-10 years to achieve. Let time be your friend and be patient with your empire. Study hard over the next few weeks year 12's, and remember: whom ever popped into your mind immediately when you saw my first question, did so for a reason. You now have the chance to be that someone for others... Take it!
