The Victorian Electoral Commission has declared the seven successful candidates..., with Robinvale-based Jade Benham topping the polls, followed by former mayor Les McPhee. Mr King was third elected, ahead of Nicole McKay, Bill Moar, Ann Young and Chris Jeffery. The six sitting councillors who sought re-election were all returned to office. There were six candidates who were unsuccessful.

20.01.2022 The State Government has announced 3,000 new public housing homes will be built in regional Victoria over the next four years, as part of a 5.3 billion dollar s...tate wide initiative. Construction will start immediately on what is being described as the largest ever investment by a state government in public housing across the country. In Mildura, the guaranteed minimum investment is 40 million dollars, while in Swan Hill it's 15 million. Haven; Home, Safe Chief Executive Officer Ken Marchingo says the amount the government is spending is staggering. "This is phenomenal, it will create tens of thousands of jobs, will put a huge dint in the public and social housing waiting list," Mr Marchingo said. Do you live in social or public housing? 14.01.2022 INTERSTATE TRAVEL UPDATE VICTORIA SHUTS DOWN TRAVEL FOR NSW RED ZONE RESIDENTS... NSW has now split its state into three zones red for the Northern Beaches hot spot; orange for Greater Sydney and green for the rest of the state. People in the red zone will not be able to get permits to enter Victoria when they come into effect at 12.01am tomorrow (Saturday, December 19). In the orange zone there may be some issues in getting permits but that will become clearer once the protocols are posted just after midnight. If you are in the green zone and that includes all the cross-border communities the length of the Murray. All they will need to do is apply for a permit, which will be granted. There will be no border controls, the Victorian Government will be running random checks on all modes of transport. For NSW people to travel into South Australia, if you are in the red zone you will not be allowed into South Australia. The only way for red zone residents, or people who have been there any time since December 11, to get into SA is through hotel quarantine. Permits and updates will become available at service.vic.gov.au/services/border-permit/home from midnight. More to come. URGENT COVID-19 NSW TRAVEL UPDATE Victoria’s borders remain open to NSW but every traveller coming here now needs a permit. At this stage that includes people in Moama. Permits come into force at 12.01am tomorrow (Saturday December 19). Those permits and all necessary details will be available at https://www.service.vic.gov.au/services/border-permit/home from midnight. The Victorian Government has announced in response to the coronavirus outbreak in NSW, anyone travelling into Victoria from New South Wales will now require a permit from 12:01am, Saturday December 19. For more information you can call the 24/7 coronavirus hotline 1800 675 398 The ‘hot zone’ in NSW is Avalon, Avalon Beach, Palm Beach, Penrith, Kirribilli, Dee Why, Mona Vale, North Narrabeen, Artarmon and Peakhurst. For NSW people headed for Queensland, travellers who have been in the hot zone on, or since, December 11, are currently required to quarantine and get tested but no permit is required.
