07.01.2022 Residents are warned about scammers. Now the community is open, this is a time when outsiders will come to community and try to take advantage of our mob. Today..., there is a report of people of Asian appearance driving a tow truck, saying they have council approval to remove vehicles. This is not true. If you are approached and asked to take your old vehicle, ask for a card. If they say council approval given - ask to see the approval notice and make sure it is on council letterhead - with CEO signature. If you want to get rid of an old vehicle - make sure you receive payment before you part with your asset. If you don’t want to talk to these people - tell them to leave your property and call the police. Let’s keep Yarrabah safe.
