24.01.2022 Did someone say 'walk'?

24.01.2022 @ Keith Payne wonderful historical photos from South America

24.01.2022 We're not planning on doing food deliveries by llama *just* yet, but you can get them in the UK: https://www.bbc.com/news/av/embed/p08d2l69/52655278

24.01.2022 A beautiful autumn day so washing and prepping fibre one llama at a time for the Huon Small Farms Expo in 2 weeks. First was Evie, our suri girl with super fine fibre. Starting with a hand warm eco wool wash, followed by 2 rinses and then sun dried! Come and see (or even buy) some fibre on 31st March

22.01.2022 After being house bound for a week with a broken ankle, we went to see the girls and Obe! Little Asher is so big and more brown than grey, Obe is settling in with the herd and Evie is looking beautiful with her suri locks growing well. Asher is camera shy and decided to turn around!

18.01.2022 A little earlier than expected but we are very pleased with our beautiful new arrival, a dark grey with tiny white flecks on feet on tail...beautiful!

18.01.2022 First group of evacuee llamas. We are very grateful to renee for offering a paddock. We are very lucky not to be in direct danger yet and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone at risk. We have so many llamas we cannot move them all quickly so we need to move in batches.

18.01.2022 We'll be at Ranelagh tomorrow with 2 young boys: Eragon and Fame. These boys havent yet walked with a pack, but you can come and say hello and see if they would like a llama pellet from 10-3 tomorrow!

18.01.2022 Fame is looking most upset that I'll have to groom them. They just heard the radio advert for Just Dogs Grooming and feel unloved!

16.01.2022 We've been getting ready to re-open our Farm Experiences, every Saturday & Sunday from September 12th. Tickets available on the website at https://llamawalkstasmania.com/book.html

15.01.2022 Our new website is live and taking bookings for weekends from mid June. If you want a midweek/school holiday/birthday party or other tailored event, please ask! We will try our best to tailor something for you. Www.llamawalkstasmania.com. #hobart, #discovertasmia #exploretasmania

14.01.2022 Zorro getting up close and personal

14.01.2022 Just back from an inspiring trip to New Zealand, visiting Keith Payne at Big Ears Llama Ranch (plus a side trip to the snow at Mount Cook). Who knew llamas were all derived from Guanacos? well, Keith has been busy for some years, researching, breeding and doing genetic tests to prove this! We were lucky enough to walk guanacos/ llamas around Keith's farm although NZ really put the weather on for us! 2degrees and rain for nearly 36 hours constantly. However, nothing could take away the sheer joy of seeing such beautiful intelligent animals, and a man that is so dedicated to maintaining the integrity of this animal. Lets start talking about improving the genetics of llamas in Australia now.

13.01.2022 Tomorrow we are visiting Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens (RTBG) for the RHH Research Foundation Easter Picnic. We will bring Donkey and Zorro, two of our friendliest boys, as well as bringing some fibre and other information. We'll be there from 10-2pm

09.01.2022 Flowers? What flowers?

08.01.2022 For those who ask "what's the difference between llamas and alpacas?" Lllamas are cool enough not to need gimmicks like shades. https://twitter.com/coolstuffch/status/1152891611585662977

07.01.2022 Donkey and Zorro are at the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens (RTBG)! They love to be fed. Come down and support RHH Research Foundation #hobart, #discovertasmania #tassielife

04.01.2022 Our opening has been delayed a lot due to illness, but we hope to be open soon. Keep watching this page for information

03.01.2022 All our llamas are now safe in new surroundings: there has been a little re-ordering of the dominance of the boys but we thank everyone who has helped us to keep these animals safe.
