24.01.2022 We are so thankful to live in this amazingly green, peaceful corner of the world where bees and butterflies still work their magic in our garden. #bees #butterflies #inmygardentoday #thankful #landforwildlife #wilsonspromontorynationalpark #visitvictoria

23.01.2022 With the support of our wonderful guests, we have so far this year been able to contribute more than $800 to the incredible work of #BassCoastSouthGippslandWildlifeRescueandShelter, which is devoted to rescuing and rehabilitating injured wildlife. It also supports many wildlife rescue volunteers across our region who dedicate their lives to nurturing and healing injured wildlife so that they can, hopefully, be returned to their natural environment. We send our thanks to Sue Moore and her team for all that they do. We look forward to supporting their vital work long into the future.

23.01.2022 We woke up this morning as a family of two and by lunchtime we had doubled our numbers. We’ve adopted two little girls whose lives had been grim, and were rescued from a horrible puppy farm in NSW. Now we have the challenge of winning their trust and love and creating a home for them where they feel safe and secure forever. Welcome to our world dear Grace (Spaniel) and Possum (Miniature Groodle) - beautiful souls.#groodle #spaniel #rescuedogsofinstagram #foreverhome #visitgippsland

22.01.2022 Never before has Australia's wildlife needed our help as much as it does now, so please give if you can. From now on, when guests book directly with us at Llarrinda we will donate 5% to help rescue and rehabilitate injured and orphaned wildlife. This year's atrocious fires mean that our wildlife needs help more than ever. Please book directly with us, and help us help them.

20.01.2022 The ladies, already named Cheryl and Beryl, have finally arrived and our dogs are mesmerised! They are beautiful girls - very friendly and hopefully one day our doggies will stop seeing them as dinner! Meanwhile, Cheryl has already delivered her first egg and it’s a whopper! #chickens #freerange #fresheggs #happy

20.01.2022 As Larry and I were contemplating the possibility of never reopening our B&B in light of the COVID-19 crisis and the extended closure of our borders, we received an amazingly uplifting email this week from TripAdvisor. It said that we have been awarded their most prestigious 'Travelers' Choice Best of the Best Award' in the category of Inn/Bed & Breakfasts in Australia, placing us in the top 1% of hotels worldwide!! This is Tripadvisor’s highest honour and is based on a ful...l year of Tripadvisor reviews, ratings and saves from travellers everywhere. We feel incredibly humbled and send our heartfelt thanks to all of our guests who have written their review of their stay with us and who made this achievement possible. Thank you, thank you, thank you! We definitely look forward to welcoming you back one day soon. xxx #TravelersChoice #tripadvisor #llarrindabedandbreakfast #WilsonsProm #VisitVictoria #visitgippsland

20.01.2022 After nine months of being Covid closed, we are busily preparing to say farewell to 2020 and welcome guests once again in the New Year. This is such a beautiful corner of the world, with wonderful green rolling hills, pristine beaches, amazing wildlife, great cafe's and galleries and fresh local produce - it should be at the top of everyone's bucket list. Come to Gippsland - we have so much to offer.

15.01.2022 Finished at last! It’s taken us two years to to paint and assemble our flat packed chook mansion and finally it’s done. Now we’ve got to find us some #chickencoop #chickens #fresheggsdaily #organiceggs

14.01.2022 We’ve just picked 30 kg of blood plums from our little tiny tree and there must be at least another 50 kg still to pick. Happy to share with anyone who needs plums!

14.01.2022 Free at last! Our beautiful girls have lived with us for just two weeks now and, thanks to a wonderful fencing team who dropped everything to help us, Grace and Possum have a special place in our garden where they can run free. This is their first ever experience of freedom. #freeatlast #rescuedogsofinstagram #groodlesofinstagram #spanielsofinstagram #foreverhome #discovervictoria #visitgippsland #nottageandsonsfencing

12.01.2022 Spotted from our bedroom window - a handsome Brown Goshawk looking for lunch. #browngoshawk #birdsofprey #birdsaustralia #australianbirds #birdsinmygarden #visitvictoria

11.01.2022 Oh dear. Our first chickens are about to arrive and our dogs have suddenly decided to take up residence in the chook house. Watch this space. #chickencoop #rescuedogs #hopetheygetalong

11.01.2022 Even in these days of social isolation we have daily visitors who come for a morning or afternoon snack and in return provide us with endless entertainment. We’ve loved watching the kookaburra parents raise this year’s young with the aid of last year’s teenagers - it really is a family affair. The babies have grown so fast it’s now difficult to tell one generation from the other. They’re a really orderly and close knit family, except when one of them tells a particularly funny joke and they collapse into fits of raucous, contagious laughter. #laughteristhebestmedicine #laughingkookaburra #kookaburras #australianbirds #birdsaustralia #visitvictoriaaustralia #birdsinmygarden #inspiredbygippsland

10.01.2022 This says it all.

09.01.2022 I’ve told these rainbow lorikeets about social distancing but they just don’t get it! #rainbowlorikeet #socialdistancing #communalbathing #australianbirds #birdsinmygarden #visitvictoriaaustralia

08.01.2022 Thumbs to the boys from @GippslandSolar who are working in the rain to remove our old solar panels (that are going free to a good home) and install a new 9.4 kw system that will double our capacity. #solarenergy #renewables #caringforourplanet #solarpower #visitvictoria

05.01.2022 As we all slowly emerge from our COVID-19 hibernation we are thinking about the best way forward for our B & B. We congratulate those businesses that have already re-opened, but given the ongoing uncertainty about a potential 'second wave,' we have decided to err on the side of caution and remain closed for the winter months. We hope to re-open in Spring and once again welcome guests with open arms.

04.01.2022 If you don’t know what to give that special someone for Christmas this year, you can always give the gift of an unforgettable stay at Llarrinda B&B - a nature lovers paradise. We have gift vouchers ready to pop in the mail for you. Call us on 0418 637 034 to arrange. #problem solved #christmasgifts #minibreaks #visitgippsland #visitvictoria #wilsonspromontorynationalpark #bedandbreakfast #luxuryaccommodation #llarrindabedandbreakfast

03.01.2022 A big thank you to all of our guests who have respected our grey shrike thrush who chose to lay her eggs in an empty plant pot on their private deck. That deck has been out of bounds since the first egg was laid on Nov 8, and will be until the chicks have fledged - hopefully in a couple of weeks. They’re growing up fast and feathers are now replacing bare skin. Mother Nature is wonderful. #greyshrikethrush #australianbirds #breedingseason #ilovenature #visitgippsland #visitvictoria

03.01.2022 Yesterday our sitting room became a concert stage for two fine musicians who filled our home and inspired our friends with their amazing music. Thank you to flautist @gin_n_timmins and percussionist @trianglethea for traveling from Melbourne to perform for us. #chambermusic #classicalmusic #soiree #flute #percussion #visitgippsland #llarrindabedandbreakfast

02.01.2022 It's only March and already 2020 is a year that none of us will forget. Yesterday, our Government announced that due to the Covid-19 crisis, all non-essential businesses and services must close. While accommodation providers were not specifically mentioned in the list of businesses to close, they were also not mentioned in the list of those that could legally remain open, so technically we are in limbo. However, as Larry and I are in the age group considered 'vulnerable', ...we have decided to protect our health and that of our guests and suspend all new bookings for the foreseeable future. As soon as it is safe to do so we will reopen our doors and welcome guests once more to our beautiful corner of the world. Please call us on +61 (0)418 637 034 or email [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns. Stay well everyone. Larry and Linda See more

01.01.2022 What a day! Choking air from smoke-filled skies all day, then eerie stormy skies at 6 and now thunder, lightning and so much rain that after just a couple of minutes our gutters were overflowing like Niagara Falls. What strange times we are living in. Hope it’s raining where it’s needed the most.

01.01.2022 I was just about to take some fruit out to our nightly brushtail possum visitors when I realised that there was another creature out there ... a Tawny Frogmouth sitting on our deck, and it was totally at ease with our presence. Amazing. In 20 years we have only ever seen one, so this was a very, very special treat. Welcome to our corner of the world, Tawny Frogmouth.

01.01.2022 Every now and then we look up and see a sleepy koala in our garden, and at other times we will hear something that sounds like a wild pig fighting or a possum being murdered. This short ABC News item explores the amazing world of our beautiful koalas.
