25.01.2022 Prior to the COVID19 pandemic, Australia was on track to eliminate cervical cancer by 2035. We were doing so well Australia. Let’s embrace the awkward and catch up to this goal. I know it's awkward! Gosh I have had so many of these tests during my diagnoses more than 14 years ago now. BUT if I had not had the tests I would not be here today. ... Now my trip to the doctors is more like a social event (he cannot shut me up) as I chat away about all the fabulous things I am getting up to now that I am well. Visualization bypasses this problem by helping your brain to automate your body language. 24.01.2022 Never be caught unprepared again. Visualisation is one of my secret ingredients to so many mile stones in my life. From surviving cancer (twice), to raising children, to singing with a full 100 piece orchestra infront of a 2000 capacity audience. Through the act of regular practice I was able to activate my subconscious mind which started to generate creative ideas helping me to achieve my goals. You can do it as well. By programming your brain it becomes easier to recog...nize the resources you will need to confidently speak across every platform. I do think the law of attraction is the most exciting aspect of visualisation because it draws into your life the people, introductions and circumstances you will need to make those deeper connections. 16.01.2022 Those tiny little vocal cords in your throat are one of the major developments that has made human evolution as we know it possible. We have the ability to make complex sounds with our tongues, mouths and throats. Sounds that reflect the subtleties of what our brain is thinking. Generally the more intelligent you are the greater your ability to communicate. Animals convey basic information using their voice but they don’t have the full range of vocal abilities that we... have, which enables our voices to be used for such a wide range of communication. This means that the uniqueness of the human voice is less about the anatomical ability to produce the sounds and more about our ability to precisely coordinate the physical movements. 11.01.2022 Maybe your obsessive attention to the slides or countless hours focused on the structure of your sentences, is not the problem with your presentation. After all Dr Albert Mehrabian's 7-38-55 rule around personal communication would certainly support this theory. It's always fascinated my foreign speaking friends (Russian, Armenian, Spanish) just how I can possibly understand 93% of what they are saying by listening to their tone and studying their body language. In fa...ct I don't even have to hear them speaking, just watching them across the room allows me to understand 55% of what they are saying through their facial expressions. And what's more interesting is that if I closed my eyes and just listened to their tone, then 38 % of the time I am almost certainly going to get lost in the misguided nuances and inflections that their physical tone alone is producing. You see, body language is the unspoken element of communication that we use to reveal our truest feelings and emotions. It includes your posture, your facial expressions, and your hand gestures. When working with my clients the first shift to happen is when they record their presentation and watch it back while using their analytical mind. This helps them identify their poor eye contact, tense facial expression and turned in body langauge. 06.01.2022 Your voice is the common factor in every conversation. As a human being you use your voice all day everyday. So why do millions of people just like you, struggle when asked to speak in public? The action that generally gets overlooked when my clients are working towards becoming a confident speaker are their thoughts. I like to say, your thoughts shape your voice, if you control your thoughts you control your voice. Or another way of thinking of it is this, what happe...ns in the mind is reflected in your breath and visa versa. This means that if your mind is busy jumping from thought to thought, your breath will be shallow and disjointed, leaving the listener feeling generally uneasy. The first step to taking control is for you to get out of your head, move beyond your thoughts (which are only interpretations of experiences anyway). Your goal is to reconnect to the mother space within. Feel the nurturing, safe and warm space that means you are connected to the self.
