25.01.2022 MEET OUR MEMBER: ALLIE I’ve always been active but group exercise in general had minimal appeal. The negative body image messaging ingrained in most fitness... classes has always made me uncomfortable. I had tried yoga before, quite a few times actually and never felt like it was for me. I would usually like the physical challenge initially, but within a few weeks the novelty would wear off and I would go back to my usual exercise of running. It was My friend, Mika had actually recommended LLLY studio a couple years ago, but at that time I wasn’t interested. When I moved back to Bundaberg and had to wait for my gym membership through my employer to be activated, I decided to try something different in the interim and remembered her suggestion. I felt from my first class here that this was completely different to my previous experiences of yoga. The studio is warm, friendly and welcoming; a beautiful, simple space with gentle lighting and sound. There are no mirrors or focus on appearance or comparison. There is a holistic emphasis on well-being and self-care. I like that the instructors offer a variety of options for poses so you can challenge and support yourself where you are comfortable. I like that you are exposed to levels of poses you can’t do yet so you can see what you are working towards, but that this somehow never feels intimidating or inaccessible. There are a lot benefits I have received since joining LLLY Studio, physically - improved strength, endurance, flexibility, balance etc. But better than that, a calm and quiet mind, improved concentration and attention and more emotional resilience. I always leave feeling accomplished and restored. I would highly recommend LLLY studio to anyone who wants more connection with their body, mind or spirit in a nurturing and encouraging atmosphere. I bring my partner sometimes, and I’ve recommended it to my friends. Thank you so much for the wonderful testimonial. It means a lot to the studio and all the teachers. #lovelifeliveyoga #llly #yogapeople #yogacommunity #bundabergyoga

19.01.2022 Utthita Trikonasana(Triangke Pose) uses the legs to firmly ground the lower body (creating a triangle with the floor) and through the vertically extended arms it rotates and stretches the upper body (creating a triangle between the front foot and grounded hand). It promotes body awareness of the actions and interconnections between legs, hips and spine. Benefits: improves the flexibility of the spine and alleviates back tension. strengthens the legs and ankles. promotes... good digestion as it tones the pelvic organs. opens the hips and spine. Enjoy your practice. See more

15.01.2022 One-legged poses give us a chance to find our center of gravity and dance around its edges. When we balance, we align our body's center of gravity with the earth's gravitational field. Quite literally, we place ourselves in physical equilibrium with a fundamental force of nature. But we can't achieve this harmony by remaining absolutely still. Instead, we must refresh our balance moment after moment. The sustained effort to center and recenter, when successful, brings not on...ly our flesh and bones into balance but also our nerve impulses, thoughts, emotions, and very consciousness. Hence, we feel calm. Equilibrium brings equanimity. Benefits: - Improves balance and stability in the legs. - On a metaphysical level, helps one to achieve balance in other aspects of life. - Strengthens the ligaments and tendon of the feet. - Strengthens and tones the entire standing leg, up to the buttocks. - Assists the body in establishing pelvic stability. - Strengthen the bones of the hips and legs due to the weight-bearing nature of the pose. -Builds self-confidence and esteem. Happy practicing!

12.01.2022 Sometimes the hardest part is the surrender. After we let go, we can face the fears we have been holding so tightly onto. When we realise that carrying these any further on our journey isn't possible, we can set them aside and our path is made clearer than before. It takes courage... but it's worth it. #lovelifeliveyoga #llly #surrender #courage

11.01.2022 Health Benefits of Yoga in Daily Life Weight loss, a strong and flexible body, glowing beautiful skin, peaceful mind, good health whatever you may be looking for, yoga has it on offer. However, very often, yoga is only partially understood as being limited to asanas (yoga poses). As such, its benefits are only perceived to be at the body level and we fail to realize the immense benefits yoga offers in uniting the body, mind and breath. When you are in harmony, the journey through life is calmer, happier and more fulfilling.

01.01.2022 There are many benefits to forward bends, both standing and sitting. They create length and space in the spine, counteracting compression, and their inward nature can promote introspection. Yet forward bends can also be a challenge to many people, especially those with tight hamstrings. Common physical patterns, such as overstretched back muscles and rounded shoulders (most likely from sitting in front of a computer for hours) are often exacerbated in forward bending poses. T...ips for getting the most out of your forward folds: 1) Alignment is the key- lengthen the front of the body as you fold, keeping the neck and jaw relaxed. 2) Props are your friend- Props(blocks, strap or towel) can make forward bends more efficient because they can help prevent over-rounding the back, release tense shoulders, and ease locked kneesall physical misalignments typical in these poses. 3) Don't force it- There's no need to struggle, or force the body to get into a position it's not ready for. Instead, surrender to the present moment, notice the experience, and settle into the breath. See more
