08.01.2022 Wednesday night city lights

08.01.2022 Although Tanqueray Gin originated in London, the spirit is now produced in Bonney Scotland. How this was shot... Unlike last nights fairly simple 2 light shot, this one was a little more complexed. A total of 3 fixed lights were used, as well as another hand held flash to illuminate the label, as well as a LED torch to light the red stamp.... A silver reflective card was placed behind the bottle to bounce light into the bottle from a strobe camera right, this was flagged to prevent light hitting the label. Another light in a strip box was placed camera right to provide a gradient down the right hand side of the bottle. The last light was also camera right and up high to provide a small light on the background. Double diffusion was used to reduce the reflections in the glass. All in all about 3 hours of work.

08.01.2022 Whisky or whiskey? Either way, I dont mind a wee dram every now and then. Given my Scottish blood, I usually partake in a glass or 2 of Whiskey made in the highlands of Scotland. There are now however, many distilleries around the world, offering an amazing choice of single malt and blended whiskies. Youd be mad, not to try a few.... Behind the scenes up on my story.

07.01.2022 Originally my idea was to display 3 vintage cameras, but then thought I should include one of the cameras I currently shoot with. The camera is also not in black and white like the other 2, however the background has been desaturated to match the others. Sony A7 III with the FE 20mm f/1.8 G Lens

03.01.2022 Whos up for a GIVEAWAY framed print just like this? Stay tuned.

02.01.2022 This weekend I spent sometime in the home studio, capturing some images to print and frame for above my new desk. I took a few test shots on Saturday, but after a few hours of shooting and some edits, I decided I didnt like them. I then changed the lighting setup and suspended a camera using the hot-shoe, for a floating camera effect and shadow. ... With the strobe battery now flat, I gave up for the day. I only had a few hours spare today and was keen to get this part of the home studio project completed. This of course meant there was no Sunday sleep-in for Craig. It only took a couple of hours to photography 3 cameras, which included several frames with different fill light, for compositing of the final image. After few quick edits in Photoshop and a quick post to my story, I headed out with the family for a BBQ lunch. We got home again late in the afternoon and I picked up where I left off in Photoshop to make a few final adjustments, before sending off the order to the custom framer. I decided to go with frameshop.com.au whom I havent used before, but they have a great online mockup system, where you can fully customise and visualise a frame, mats, glass and even get it printed. @ Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
