The Chief Fire Control Officer, Bushfires NT and the Director, NT Fire and Rescue Service have declared a 24 HOUR FIRE BAN PERIOD for Saturday 12 September 2020 for the following areas. DARWIN AND ADELAIDE RIVER FIRE WEATHER FORECAST AREA. The Fire Ban is declared for a 24 hour period commencing at 0000 hours on Saturday 12 September 2020. No person shall light a fire or cause a fire to be lit in the open in the portion of the Northern Territory within the fire ban area. This includes the DARWIN, ADELAIDE RIVER and BATCHELOR EMERGENCY RESPONSE AREAS and the LITCHFIELD MUNICIPALITY and COOMALIE SHIRE. The Fire Ban is valid from midnight to midnight. 20.01.2022 Another exciting addition to the NT Fire Incident Map is the introduction of bushfire perimeters for our emergency warnings. Fire perimeters are based on infor...mation received both from firefighters on the ground and from aerial observers. The perimeter is our best estimate of the known extent of the fire. If sufficient data is not available, no fire perimeter will be displayed. This means, you will mainly see this level of detail in your warning messages during the fire season when there is a Fire Ban Day.

13.01.2022 STAY INFORMED AND STAY SAFE The Top End of the Northern Territory is experiencing its worst fire weather conditions in more than 5 years. It’s hot, dry and wind...y making fires extremely unpredictable and challenging to control. Under these conditions it is paramount you remain alert and keep up to date on the latest bushfire information. An inter-agency Emergency Operations Centre has been established at Bushfires NT Headquarters in Acacia Hills. Bushfires NT staff and volunteers are working together with the Department Environment & Natural Resources, Parks & Wildlife, the Dept Infrastructure, Planning & Logistics, Defence and NT Police, Fire and Emergency Services including the Territory Response Group who are currently conducting 128 property impact assessments. To help keep you informed a Bushfire Information Hotline has been established, for bushfire information call 8946 4147. 12.01.2022 Thank you to our wonderful volunteers for your hard work so far Yesterday was another busy day with 8 fires spread across the Katherine and Rural area, with... the Manbulloo fire going to a Watch and Act. Bushfires NT provided assistance to Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services with 5 Fix Wing Water Bombers, 4 Helicopters, 21 Firefighters from Elizabeth Valley, Livingstone, Berry Springs, Lambells Lagoon, Labasheeda to help control the fast moving bushfire that was threatening properties in Humpty Doo and Girraween area. Don’t forget it's an offence to intentionally light or cause a fire in the Fire Ban area during a Fire Ban period Helicopter view over the Hardies Lagoon, Marrakai Fire.
