01.01.2022 Be aware of a new type of scam email that caught my attention with an old password in the subject. More info linked. I can see a lot of people being spooked the first time they come across this, don't freak and don't pay! Passwords leak (Facebook one of the most recent victims) and you need to mitigate risk ASAP. I had no reason to panic as I knew my leaked password was not used in years. This is why you update passwords regularly, use two-factor authentication where availab...le (especially on important and financial sites) and use different passwords for every site (even if you just change a couple of characters). Even better, use a password manager and generator such as LastPass, which I have used free for years. LastPass can also do a security audit of managed accounts and suggest fixes - 8 services associated with my email had data leaks, which I had already fixed by changing passwords. Start fixing your passwords today before it's too late.
