14.01.2022 We are excited to announce our new LMGFC merchandise site. Click on the link https://www.promoprinting.net.au//lmgfc-lake-macquarie-gam. We have put together some simple designs so you can proudly support and show off your club while out on the water or at the next tournament.... We have tried to keep the prices as low as possible with a small portion going to the club to help put on future events for our members. We are using a 3rd party provider Promo Printing which offer one off printing, handle the payments and delivery arrangements. Get your crew together to place an order and save on postage. For sizing there are charts for each item, make sure you check before ordering. If there are other items you would like to see, please let us know and we will try and get them added for you. Thank you to Promo Printing and Engineroom Design Co. for setting our site up and the design work. Tight Lines Committee

09.01.2022 Excellent article that explains well the issue I believe my boat "Inheritance suffered from.... a 650 Senator that is only 3 years old...... and we do a lot of... game fishing.... 1st season we had plenty of fish up and secured my daughters 1st marlin tagged and released...... however it took another 2 seasons of frustration and a lot of research to finally realise our boat was virtually "fizzing" like a freshly lit sparkler... the final piece of the puzzle for us was after 32 days of trolling with the last 20 days producing zero fish in the gear we came across a tailer that told a story by its reactions.......this tailer lit up like an Xmas tree when we got within 20-30m of it and it then turned and bolted... after 35 years of game fishing and probably having seen dozens and dozens of tailing marlin over the years we've never seen one do this..... this was the final piece of the puzzle and we sought expert advice... the boat was completely examined from top to bottom with every electrical fitting tested on specialist equipment.... 4 electrical fittings were found to be leaking current direct to the hull... the boat was also tested in the water once again on specialzed equipment with regards to whether it needed a dedicated sacrificial anode.... it was well outside the acceptable range and an anode attached.... an immediate re-test showed the boat was now "neutral" and no longer suffering significant corrosion.... be aware that the sacrificial blocks attached to your outboard are designed solely for the outboard and provide zero protection for your alloy hull..... if you have stray current and no additional anode fitted to your hull your boat is slowly corroding away.... I'm up to 750hrs in exactly 3 yrs of ownership and there is actual visual evidence on my hull of the corrosion..... its not significant or terminal but its there....... either way you don't want this left unattended as it will be a real problem......this process included further tests of the batteries under load and the previously mentioned total earthing check of all electrical fittings... I'm happy to pass on the information I've learnt and researched into with others if this article combined with my experiences now answers some of your own questions..... we won't really know until we're back on the water if the problem is fixed and until that first fish lifts into the spread..... I'm also going to run lures this year instead of just shiny hooks so hopefully that will help as well..... !!!! See more
