25.01.2022 Not only is Jonathan Johnston an amazing presenter, actor and should be our TV weatherman, he is also an amazing chef!!

24.01.2022 Stay in your lane has been a recurring message over the last few days! Roger Rasheed was the keynote at a conference I MC’d last week and his message was not to focus on what everyone around you or your competition is doing just focus on being the best version of yourself. On the weekend we were filming with @mariahgates_ for The Holistic Approach TV series and @biancazara more-or-less said the same thing in a yin yoga context just focus on what your body can do not everyo...ne else in the room. It’s so easy with social media especially, to always be comparing and looking at who is getting what work and then even get distracted from doing your thing, using your strengths and doing what’s right for you. Stay in your lane. It’s powerful! #rogerrasheed #tvpresenter #lisamcaskillpresenting

23.01.2022 Voiceover is such an underestimated element in presenting. We tend to focus on the on camera performance but actually it’s usually the voiceover that takes up way more of the video piece especially in a professional TV or video context. So was great to give the TV & Online Presenting course participants the opportunity to practice at Wundenberg's Recording Studios under the guidance of passionate sound engineer John Wombat Bridges and @Lewis Wundenberg. They had so much f...un #voiceover #TVpresenting #video

18.01.2022 Great to be back MCIng a real life, in person, face to face conference at @adelaidecc for local government today! Very Covid safely organized by @pcoonan and Convention centre staff were super diligent even spraying the chairs with Glen 20 between breaks! Reminded me of those days flying back in to Australia when the hosties would spray the cabin and you’d try not to breathe until you got off- can’t by good for you #MC #presenting #keynote

18.01.2022 One of the benefits of this pause has been the opportunity for people to work on their business rather than just in it. Observing social distancing with just me behind the camera for this and using a pad prompter we were able to create 12 videos in one day to build connection and brand awareness for Transition Through Travel. No matter how experienced you’d never be able to remember all that content, so a pad prompter is such a useful tool. It takes away the stress of learning lines and with a bit of practice and being really familiar with what you are saying no one should pick up that you are reading. If this pause has prompted a need to transition for you, I recommend having a look at what Belinda is offering, she’s clever, insightful and it’s a bit different www.transitionthroughtravel.com

18.01.2022 Couldn’t resist this is just an ungraded screen shot from our rushes but how good does Adelaide look, very LA Hollywood Hills, agree? @kaptainkirky working his magic @crowneplazaadelaide pool @danielle_kondrat ... @cliffkoma #southaustralia

17.01.2022 Channel 44 lives again for another 12 months! Announced live last night on Q&A! Was great to see the groundswell of political support. Thanks and recognition must go to Lauren Ann Hillman and Kristen Hamill for their enthusiasm and devotion to keeping this platform alive, both for the experience it offers to those entering the media industry and for the local niche content it can broadcast, especially for those in the community who do not have online alternatives.

16.01.2022 Incredible to see the before and after of what can be created in post and visual effects, and right here in SA. Definitely worth a watch although spoiler alert that movie you were planning to watch tonight might just not be as believable

16.01.2022 Absolute Rundle St Icons Joff Chapel, @driller_jet and mural artist @losnikos Listening to the reflections of those closet to Joff Chapel at his celebration party tonight moved to live even more mindfully by the qualities everyone mentioned.... Always make people feel better about themselves ... Do things not just to make money but to be more beautiful and create community Live boldly Life is either a daring adventure or nothing

16.01.2022 Despite all the challenges this year I have been asked more than ever to recommend presenters for video, TV commercials and also to MC! Producers are wanting sizzle reels to show their clients many of whom have seen the benefits of using video but they just don’t want to do it themselves, and so would like someone else to be their brand face and spokesperson. So I’m going to particularly focus on all these elements in the upcoming 7wk TV & Online Presenting Course starting Tu...esday nights October 27 -Dec 8. Plus a voiceover session with sound engineers at Wundenbergs Studio, Q&A sessions with producers and a professionally filmed video for your sizzle reel. If you would like to present professionally or know someone who should please get in touch for more details. There are only 3 places available See more

15.01.2022 I love so much about this! So proud of Sophie Hueppauff's presenting in these stories for San Diego Zoo Kids TV. Her beautiful, genuine personality radiates through, she's just like this in real life. I get to see two of my TV & Video Presenting Course students in the one clip, well done too Nicholas James Bishop! And who doesn't love seeing cute animals taking a bath!... Nature always amazes me. 14.01.2022 So great to re-start the TV & Online Presenting Course last night in "real life"!! And with a change of location to the new eclectic space Mezzanine 55. It's going to be fun filming with these settings as backdrops!

12.01.2022 Nervous/Anxious? BREATHE Inhale for 2 seconds, then draw out your exhale for around 5 seconds Slow exhalation triggers your parasympathetic nervous system and decreases your blood pressure. When we feel nervous presenting we tend to shallow breathe in the top part of our chest and it will feel like we are running out of breath as we are trying to speak. ... Take the time to have a few deep belly breaths before and pause if you need during a presentation for a deep breath, it will help to calm, center and clear your mind as well. #breathe #presenting #calm #nerves

12.01.2022 If you know you need to start using video more but it’s all a bit nerve wracking and overwhelming I have a couple of spots available for this Friday’s, 1 day Building Confidence for Video Presenting Workshop. A Pad Prompter can be really useful especially when your video has more script than you can possibly remember or you want to film numerous videos in one day but, there is a skill in using it as a prompt and not just reading from it - get it right and no-one will ever know! 11.01.2022 You can change your mood by the way you hold your body! I’ve been reading research by Amy Cuddy where studies have proven the effects of expansive body postures or power poses, for increasing our feelings of power, confidence and optimism. Just by walking in a more open, upright and buoyant way will mean that our positive memories about ourselves follow suit in contrast to walking with head down, rounded shoulders more negative feelings will occupy our thoughts. I find it fa...scinating and cool that, movement like posture tells the brain how it feels and even manages what it remembers about us, because it’s something so easy to change and adopt! #powerpose #confidence #presenting #optimism #nofilter

09.01.2022 This made me smile so much, even have a little chuckle. I’m sure that dog was smiling at me as much as the beautiful image. And that’s the thing about smiling it’s contagious! From a presenting perspective a simple smile genuine or even forced prompts the brain to produce endorphins and serotonin causing positive emotions and if you smiling makes your audience smile back they experience the same. You are setting them up to receive your information more positively! ... I love that because it’s so simple!

07.01.2022 Testing out my new tools for Saturday's Building Confidence for Video Workshop. Have 2 spots left even though it looks like it's full on the Facebook event, please get in touch if you are keen. Had a couple of people say they'd like a phone video as a takeaway so I've worked that into the day and bought some new equipment so they will look and sound great. 07.01.2022 The reason so many of the hosts of The Project are so passionate about saving Community TV is because it is where they all got their first break in the television industry! As Peter Hellier says in this clip, "you don't get that shiny floor (studio) experience on YouTube" Paul Fletcher the 3 other community stations in Syd, Bris and Perth have all closed down and if you don’t make the right decision for the remaining 2 - Channel 44 and C31 Melbourne and Geelong, then the same fate awaits in less than 4 weeks... We are asking you to PLEASE re-consider your decision as we know there is no planned use for the spectrum, let us keep broadcasting! #KeepLocalT

06.01.2022 Do you look at how long a video goes for before deciding to watch it? A few short, simple helpful tips can be all you need to stay front of mind in the crowded social media feed. Like this 13sec video by Heidi Varga from HV Styling filmed on her iPhone at the Building Confidence for Video Presenting 1 day workshop. Keeping your videos short with useful content means that people are way more likely to watch them next time you post!

05.01.2022 Really love it when I see my past students dreams and concepts coming to life. Fantastic to see @mariahgates_ in action presenting and producing whilst being the stand in director for the day. She has a beautiful spirit so is the perfect person to bring together this TV series @theholisticapproachau exploring all things yoga and it’s benefits particularly for controlling anxiety. #theholisticapproachau #tvpresenting #channel44 #yoga

05.01.2022 This is a really great opportunity for a personal mentoring session if you are working on or have an idea for a TV show, film or documentary, or just want some career advice, to have access and be able to pick the brains of some of these industry professionals is fantastic!

05.01.2022 One of the positives for me to come from the restrictions is Yoga With Adriene I cannot rave about it enough, if you’ve seen me in the last month I would have told you about it! I’ve been doing a yoga/Pilates mix for a few years but very randomly only when I had time but being able to do it whenever it suits throughout the day has made it routine and I can totally feel the benefits. I’m pretty unco so in a class I’ve never mastered the breathing and the posture but at home... it’s really coming together. Breathing, although it seems so basic we all do it, is crucial in being able to control our emotional reactions and for calming in stressful situations so I believe it’s totally worth mastering. I also love how Adriene’s dog, Benji, is always so chill and asleep in every video. Jessie however has taken a slightly more luxurious option for the yoga sessions! I used to be repulsed by photos of dogs sleeping on or in people’s beds, but oh how they wear you down. It has taken her 4 years to get here! I’ve even went out a bought this blanket so I could easily put it in the wash and have put away my usual bed throw! #fortheloveofdogs #yoga #breathing #calm See more

05.01.2022 A snippet about how our brains are wired for stories which means you've got to tell real stories if you want to engage your audience, inspire action and be memorable.

05.01.2022 "Charisma the ability to influence and persuade through the nature of your character" "The ability to influence without logic" "Imagine an arc of light connected between your heart and the heart of the other person" You couldn't describe Russell Brand without using the word charisma, he has it nailed so this is worth a watch.

04.01.2022 Just discovered this today (not sure whether it's new?) where Photos (I think ) on IPhone creates this memory video package all by itself! How cool! This was a day filming sizzle reel pieces for some of my awesome presenters!
