19.01.2022 Div 1 Now or Never B v Beauy Bucheurs In a low scoring, but entertaining match, Now or Never triumphed by just 4 runs. Batting first, Now or Never were in trouble early losing 6 for 55, but their last pair put on 51 runs between them and they had a score of 107 to bowl at. ... Josh Browning and Sammy Matthews were the standouts taking 5 for 25 between them in 8 overs. Bucheurs in response started slowly and lost early wickets of their own, but Sammy Matthews with 41 gave the Bucheurs a chance at winning at the back end, even though they trailed the run rate. Alex Richards riding his luck early, but patiently scoring 51 from 38 and Josh Henderson 51 from 27 for BrokeBatMountain. Lumberjacks could only manage all out for 99 in reply, a short stoppage for rain during their innings only delaying the inevitable as Alex Richards backed up his batting efforts taking 2 wickets in his only over with the ball. ... Crafty Tappers started well on the back of Corey Zarb’s 40 from 18 and it was game on, but Josh Henderson was brought into the bowling attack and he ripped through the Tappers batting line up with and incredible spell of 6 for 18 from 4 o...vers including a Hat Trick in his third over! 04.01.2022 Div 2 Cane Toads v Jimby Crickets Cane Toads batted first and their 132 runs wasn’t enough as Jimby’s cruised to a 7 wicket win with more than 3 overs to spare. Daniel Muller and Callum Whiting got the Toads off to steady start as they scored 44 and 45 respectively, but the bowling of Kevin Barrett was the story of the innings as he took 2 for 11 from his 4 overs.... 03.01.2022 Div 1 Crafty Tappers v Purple People Eaters With only three of their regular players available, Crafty Tappers had a heap of new faces for the match against Purple People Eaters and batting first they put on an impressive 156 from their 20 overs. Ashneel Nair with 53 from 27 and a late order cameo from Rob Pearce of 34 from 15. But this innings was to be remembered for the Hat Trick of teenager Jake Boettcher. A caught behind followed by catch in the outfield and a bowled... to complete the Hat Trick and the match ball was to be taken by Jake. 01.01.2022 Div 1 - Semi Final 2 - Crafty Tappers Vs Now or Never B Now or Never B were ask to bat first by the Tappers and after a bright start Now or Never B Scored were restricted to 133 from their 20 overs. Gregg Marks taking 2 for 11 from 4 overs for the Tappers and stemming the flow of runs after the change of ends with his off spin. Crafty Tappers made short work of the target and scored the required 134 runs in the 17th over, losing just the 3 wickets in the run chase.... 01.01.2022 So with the Winter Season done and dusted, it's time to say thanks to a few people. Firstly to our umpires for the season Stu, Phil & Ty...thanks lads...gotta say there hasn't been any complaints about your officiating and that's all that our players can ask for...consistent decisions and a bit of happy chat when you're out in the middle. To our venues...Jimboomba AFL (Tom Vidoni), Greenbank CC (Shane Harris) & Logan Village CC (Paul and Rick)... thanks to you all for providi...ng us with great venues to play LMS in a challenging season, where we have grown from 6 teams to 15 teams and you guys were always happy to work with us to get some cricket played...with a little bit of Covid-19 thrown in to keep us on our toes! Tom from Jimboomba has always been extremely keen for us to get back playing and his support for us over the last 18 months has been invaluable! Thanks to Rick from Logan Village CC for preparing such a good pitch for our Div 1 finals, I know the players appreciated something a little bit special for our finals and a cracking day was had by all.
