22.01.2022 I had the honour of sharing the chamber with this wonderful group of Councillors for almost six years - 110 meetings in all and many achievements and initiatives to be proud of. Thanks to our fantastic staff who work tirelessly for our community every day.

22.01.2022 Did you see this great video from work on the new link road in West Dapto? Its a project thats been a long time in the making, providing flood-reliable access for existing residents, and a connection to the Dapto town centre for some 50,000 new residents in the next few dacades

22.01.2022 It was fantastic to join local children today to officially open the new play space at Bellambi Point. Kids from Bellambi Public School, Barnados and Big Fat Smile playgroups told us they wanted trampolining, hanging upside down, water play and swings, so thats what we delivered.

20.01.2022 Yesterday I wished ultra runner Isak Ketsakidis all the best as he left Wollongong for Fairfield to raise funds for Assyrian Church of the East Relief Organisation to help those dislocated by war. Isak is supported by our local Greek community, the Pontians share the pain. All part of the great Christian Orthodox tradition.

20.01.2022 Yesterday and today I had the honour of attending the UK Mayors and Senior Officials Meeting in London. Im in the white jacket - being summer I thought it was the go. The South African High Commissioner (former Mayor) and I were invited to present our citys stories confronting economic change and challenges. About 10 high ranking bureaucrats from Westminster attended. Interesting to hear the discussions especially about Brexit negotiations starting next week. Great political uncertainty about the future.

19.01.2022 Justice Minister Michael Keenan addressing the National General Assembly in Canberra on terrorism. It is important that we work to engage and include all in our Wollongong community. Regardless of religion, there is only one criteria to be an Aussie ie the upholding and respecting everyones rights to a fair go. We can have all the police we want but ultimately we have to depend on each other to do the right thing. Im proud of our community. Were not perfect just keen to make Wollongong even better.

19.01.2022 Ready to officially welcome our Friendship Ambassadors from Kawasaki, Japan as part of our special sister city relationship

17.01.2022 At Humber last night for the launch of the "Anywhere Theatre Festival". Interesting characters reminded me of the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" but there is more to come ... August 17-27 throughout our city centre.

16.01.2022 Every day, more companies are choosing to invest in Wollongong because of our global connectivity, our enviable lifestyle and access to a skilled workforce. Have you heard about the Wollongong Advantage?

14.01.2022 Pilar and I have been rambling through the English countryside, the same part of the world that is also experiencing shock and more grief. Were very sorry to hear of the madness in London. Its a crazy world we live in. It also says we must all work to make sure all are included in the dream of peace and access to opportunities.

06.01.2022 Presenting the ceremonial shovels to Dapto High and Public School Captains. These were used at the sod turning ceremony for the $92 million Fowler Road extension - 1.3km of elevated road with 230m of bridges - one of the biggest single infrastructure spends by Council. Hopefully these schools will be represented and able to do the final shovel as well in 2020.

05.01.2022 Calling all volunteers! Being an Independent, I dont have an army of paid up Party members to ship in on election day, to attend polling booths! If anyone can spare a couple of hours here and there over the next two weeks during pre-polling (Thirroul, Wollongong City or Dapto), or on election day at any of the 80+ polling booths across our electorate, we could really use your help to get the How to Vote cards out to voters.... Check out the Volunteer page on my website and register your interest. One of my friendly team members will be in contact in the next couple of days. Thanks guys!

02.01.2022 Hello from Ohrid, Macedonia, where I have the pleasure of visiting our sister city. This was taken in the late afternoon in Ohrid mall before dinner with the Mayor and Chair of the City Board. Both are medical specialists in a country that has very porous borders with five countries. Brave politicians with big challenges.

02.01.2022 Every year I look forward to welcoming the Kawasaki Friendship Ambassadors from our sister city in Japan. Enjoy this wonderful rendition of Waltzing Matilda in Japanese
